With the release of Apocalypse, I am happy to see more and more people building Warlord Titans for 40K. Heres a link to my hobby blog if you would like to see my WIP.

There seems to be a lot of discussion about scale and size for a Warlord scale Titan in 40K. I determined my scale by looking at the Epic range. I measured out and drew a sketch of a 40k Warlord on a big piece of paper and it looked like a good size. I also determined by studying various photos of the old Infinity Gate diorama (siege of the Emperors palace display @ Warhammer World Museum), that my titan would be almost the same size as the ones in the display. So using the 1:12 scale, i took measurement of the current Epic Warlord model and made templates. It stands about 32 inches tall.

IMHO i think that really there is no definitive scale for this model at this time. You'll find a few hight reference in the Fluff, but these aren't always consistent. Comparing GW Epic sale to GW 40k scale isn't consistent. As a result we are seeing many variations in the size of the models being produced. I think thats fine because whats important it that you enjoy the process of building it and your end result will be pretty impressive on the tabletop regardless.

You can leave comment on the blog page. Id love to hear what you guys think and feel free to ask questions.

I'd have to say the model itself looks really cool. The animated pics moving all over the place made me want to smash it though. Got too annoying so I closed the blog. Either way, the model looks good. Just wish you had pics posted that were in a more classic manner, since it's still WIP. If it was completed, based, painted, etc..basically done, I could see the coolness factor of the animated pics.

Man, how much does that thing weigh? It was hard to tell when I looked earlier due to the slideshow format of the pics, but is the base body made out of plywood?

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

It's still slideshowing..you don't have a section where we can just click on the single pic to enlarge or something?

I second DBM's question...that thing looks heavy with all the wood in there. Definitely sturdy, I just wouldn't want it falling over onto my stuff.

I've noticed you have your photobucket account as private. If you change your options to make your account public we'll be able to look at your photos 1 at a time.

Right now it looks great though!

You have managed to really nail the hulking pose and the legs. The lower body is the part that most Warlords posted here miss- you've really done it right, and I'm guessing that the heavy plywood construction is part of that.

Great work. Where in the "real world" will this thing be showing up?

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!
