I've been contemplating this project for over a year, and I can't believe it's finally done!

Included are one of every Tanith model available, plus Try Agin' Bragg inspired by GW's cool conversion (STILL can't figure out what head they used!), and a flamer dude from an extra Corbec I had with a broken lasrifle. Pity I couldn't use a larger flamer with the backpack tanks, for a "Sunburst Special" optional rule!

You forgot that the Tanith issue lasrifles have "Nalwood" stocks. It sounds pretty dorky to know that, but apparently Dan Abnett thought it pretty important since he mentions it so much in the books. Also, besides the first book or two, the Tanith are not mentioned having any special weapons in their combat teams, neither did the Veghastite and Belladon units (I am currently re-reading the books, myself, in contimplation of somehow making my own Tanith based models set).

Lastly, good job and I am jealous that I neglected to buy the Tanith boxed set back when it was out. An avid Guardsmen and fan of the series, I am ashamed I did not ensure myself even ONE of the models. I STILL don't even have a Gaunt!

Nalwood, eh? I've only read His Last Command and The Armor of Contempt so far, but derned if I think he did make mention of it once or twice in those two volumes!

In my defense, I was just following the pictures on the box!

By His Last Command and Armor of Contempt, fewer of them have their original rifles - keep in mind that it's been something like 7 years since they left Tanith by that point. Granted, since you've still got Corbec, Bragg, and Milo in the Kill Team, that means your team is set prior to Guns of Tanith, so they would still have a lot of lasguns with nalwood stocks.

And while plasma and melta guns aren't often mentioned, most combat teams have a dedicated Scout Trooper, Flame Trooper, and Sniper.

Great, great job on the paintjobs, though! Very nice. Go, Brostin, go!

Thanks!!

Here's a couple of back shots too. I didn't paint the camo patterns on the inner lining of the cloaks, because most camoflauged cloth I've seen only really shows on one side. Convenient, eh?

My sculpting skills are nearly non-existant, and hopefully the paint job helps to hide just how horrible a job I did on Bragg's cloak!

You are correct, I forgot about the Flamers and Snipers. I think only in the first book were Meltas mentioned. Maybe plasmas too. But I am pretty sure they have not appeared since.

As for the stocks, few troopers seem to lose or damage their rifles, which is pretty senquitar with warfare. Even if they did, the Tanith have take a lot of casualties and their equipment would typically be recovered. Their rifles would surely have been put back into service. Even if they weren't, the Tanith rifle replacements seem to be wire/tube stocked weapons (mostly mentioned being in the hands of the Veghastites). I don't think Abnett has yet mentioned what the Belladon carry, or even if they use Camo-cloaks or whether or not they are of the same technology as the Tanith's! All questions I have thought and need to address before I will start my own Tanith conversions.

Nice look. I personally prefer your Bragg, to the GW one. All in all pretty good.

In "His last Command" it is mentioned that the belladon influx do actually use camocloaks.

P. 227 (paperback version)
They´d got rid of the netting shrouds.... and adopted Ghost-style camo-cloaks."

It does not, as far as my memory serves, reveal much else about their weapons, other than that they also exchanged their sword-form bayonets, for knives that resembled the ones the Ghosts use.

Hope that helps a bit.

Your skintones ad flesh shading are really good. The tattoos are also handled well, without too much emphasis but also not sloppy. Good work.

I did notice that your Bragg has a broken manacle on his wrist, though. Maybe that's a tough-guy thing. Great conversion, and I don't think the cloak looks bad at all.

Skiniattittar, they did have special weapons. Brostin's flamer features prominently on a few occasions. In fact, I figured that gearhead was specifically modelling Brostin, because with that face-shroud the guy looks a bit shifty. He is (was? Can't remember if he bit it on Gereon or not) one of Rawne's crew, after all...

I'm pretty sure Brostin makes it out alive, yep.

Feygor is the one that is killed on Anceron Sextus, or something like that. The place with the big city that they never figured out what it did.
