I've had this guy sitting on my 'to be finished' pile for a while now, and so it was rather a relief to finally get him finished...

A little idea inspired by a Warmachine Warjack which has two shields that interlock in front...

Built from assorted plastic bits, a brass aquila from Forgeworld, and a little putty.

The shields are intended to count as a combat shield and twin CCWs. He has a holstered bolt pistol to satisfy WYSIWYG.

As always, comments and criticisms welcome.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

That's neat, I wish I had thought of the same trick.

Nice work with the green stuff.

That Green Stuff work is almost passable. With a little more practice, I think you might be able to make something somewhat decent looking.

Ok, now you're just showing off.

You green stuffed the bolt pistol holster. You couldn't just glue one of the gajillion bolt pistol in holster that come on sprues. Just HAD to make us all feel inadequate, didn't ya?

Um, what does he count as being armed with?

He counts as having the usual Company Champion weapons load-out...

A Company Champion (from memory, since my Codex appears to have vanished into the warp) comes with a bolt pistol, powersword and combat shield.

Counting the shields as two close combat weapons (or more specifically, a close combat weapon and a powersword) grants him the same number of attacks as he would have with a bolt pistol and powersword.

If he flaps his arms fast enough does he count as having a jump pack?

Not so convinced buy the second shield. Looks odd imho.

I wish my sculpting was half as good as yours. Awesome job. Love the twin shields.

I'm convinced. It must look even better in the round than it does from several fixed perspectives (obviously I guess, but that might explain why some remain unconvinced that the second shield works).

Although smiting people with shields is very Captain America...

Love the idea and great execution. The devastator is possibly my favorite WM jack, way to lift the idea and then make it better (the acquila when interlocked)

Is he a commission or headed for eBay or such?

you have done a wonderful conversion there. if I had 1/4 of that talent I might even try to replicate it. although I might combine the boltpistol into one of the shields and make the shields edges look bladed or at least look like they are sharpened for close combat.

very nicely done. i really like it when people think outside the sandbox.

He's on eBay.

The shields actually do had sharpened edges, running along under the Aquila wings. They just don't show up well in the photos... still getting the hang of photographing minis with plasticard pieces, as the detail in the white tends to just wash out unless the picture is very dark.

I was checking out your site Insaniak, and I've got a quick question. What's the difference between the green stuff and brown stuff in some of your conversions?

The Brown Stuff is a slightly different putty made by the same people as GS. It's a little more firm, slightly coarse, and not quite as sticky. Makes it better for hard edges or flat surfaces, but it's a little harder to apply and doesn't photgraph well

Not quite as obvious in the pics is that I also use a 'grey stuff'... which is Pro-create. I tend to use that instead of the brown stuff these days, as it has similar properties without the coarseness. Still doesn't stick as well as GS though.

I was actually pondering what had happened to you recently as well, good to see you are still making these grant conversions.

I like the two shield idea, can imagine a lot of smashed faces on his way through.

While I am still converting, this thread is 3 years old...
