It is a nice mini in itself, I guess.

I don't really like it. It looks like he's tripping over something.
Add some sunglasses though, and the head would work well for a Duke Nukem conversion.

yeah its a ok marine the last one (orc) was better, but only marginally. what they need to do is character models that they dont have yet. (like the IG commander from DOW). something substantial not something you can make outta plastic yourselves.

No, because the Maltese-cross-with-a-skull-in-the-center isn't a Black Templar symbol- it's part of the generic Imperial iconography.

I'm actually kinda surprised that (as they painted him in UM colors) he's not all blinged up. Especially as he sure looks like an HQ type.

At the risk of sounding like a fanboi, I kind of like it(it just needs a helmet). I'm glad there's no (visible) sculpted Smurf icons, so he's generic enough for other chapters, and I love that his holster has a belt loop AND leg strap and isn't just plastered on as an afterthought like so many GW metal holsters.

I think that's an homage to the metal mk 7 armors from back in 2nd edition and the early part of 3rd. They ALWAYS had a gemstone in the middle of the aquilla on their chestpiece.

As a figure, I don't hate it at all, but yes it's a shame that the marine genetic modification apparently results in them all being deaf and spending the rest of their lives shouting...

Unfaceted oval gems aren't really exclusive to Eldar. They've been popping up on Marines for years.

I like him. A thunder hammer vet sgt is fairly useful and personally I like to think the gem is an eldar soulgem he captured and uses for a decoration.
A lot better than the cheerleader marine from a few years back.

I'm sure all the Space Marine detractors will be quite happy when 5th edition 40K hits, as it looks like it will usher in the Rule of the Horde armies...
Unless, of course, the 5th edition Marine Codex does something drastic.
Current trending looks like it won't but you never know. I guess.

I think it looks pretty nice. It is not static at all so that is nice compared to the usual standing pose. And it is about time we got a generic marine sergeant with a thunder hammer. And I think the head is a separate piece so you can helmet it up if you want.

I certainly hope that's true!
I'd pick one up if I could (easily) make it not be the typical Screaming Marine!
