I like it, but when can you field this is a game? A commander with a lone thunder hammer? Will that even be legal in the next codex with all the wargear restrictions we've seen lately?

You could always stick him in a Daemonhunters army.

I find it extraordinarily 'Meh', personally. I like my GD minis to have a little something extra. Of the three I have (2001-2003), my favourite is the WHFB Chaos Lord strangulating an Elf.

Unfaceted oval gems aren't really exclusive to Eldar. They've been popping up on Marines for years.

It's good to hear that he has a separate head, as this one is a throwback to the days of Warhammer Hair (flattops and foot-high mohawks on everyone. Yay 80's.).

Unfortunately, it also makes his neck/head position look really odd from the side.

I mean I know GW loves their space marines, but would it kill them to put out a mini of something that would be a little more memorable? Maybe a Daemon character, to follow up on the deamon codex release.

Ya know, I love my marine army to death but I would still love to see something more interesting in a Games Day mini. I mean the Imperium alone is full of interesting possibilities, let alone the whole gamut of 40k races.

For a limited edition Games Day only model, I was expecting something a bit more unique

I've gotta agree with some of you.........ANOTHER SPACE MARINE? why? I really liked the deamon slayer as it was something a bit different, liked the orc last year (if only for the humourus grot) but am sick of limited ed SMs. the only one I've actually really liked was the skullz one, just a shame it was an ultramarine.

Personally i'd like the GD minitures to be more of a disp[lay piece that's a bit unusual either that or limited ed plastic themed frames, with creatures, or gothicy bits etc. Sort of similar idea to those basing kits but extra atmospheric bits to go on a model rather than the base. Possibly include a 'standard' figure with it so that you could actuially make a figure with the sprue rather than just having 'spares' that should make it more appealing to the whole community rather than the fans of that particular theme....

lol, you really don't know your iconography do you? take a look back and check out the shoulder pads for terminators, then come back and tell us all the terminators GW ever did are Black Templars.

I'd like an imperial guard dude as a gamesday mini someday. Just that. Maybe a cool guardsman like on the front of the guardsman section in the rulebook, chilling out there with his gasmask and pack. Or maybe an elysian mask. Yeah, a cool guardsman like that.

It's a nice sculpt but I'll echo the "*sigh*, another space marine..."

Hmmm i prefer more of the spartan or master of the fleet looking models, but he would do in a pinch with tribal face paint.

"Limited edition plastic" is an oxymoron. Because the initial set up cost for a plastic sprue is orders of magnitude greater than that for a metal model, plastics are really only suitable for mass production. Even GW isn't slowed enough to do limited edition plastics.

Also, someone absolutely must convert that marine to be carrying a tray of precariously-balanced banana cream pies in each hand.

Wizkids have been doing limited edition plastic miniatures for conventions for years now.

I think it could use more purity seals and more skulls.

I want to remove the hammer, stretch out the fingers, and put a rock on the base up against the back foot.

In Australia with no games day we get them with Golden Daemon entry... so I enter (as does the wife), I get 2 and then save them to sell at later date.

Should make a cool Salamander hero. But, as most of you are likely thinking- do we need another Space Marine hero?!? I've already got waayyyy more than I could ever field.
