List edited: Too many points. Where can I drop 20 points for 1850 ( alot of guys play that here), and what can I add for 2k? I was thinking another unit of dire avengers.

Are star engines worth it? I don't think so, but what are your thoughts?

Reapers are great but if you are already bringing one you probably want a second Fire Prism instead.

Fire Dragons are great.

You can do w/o the BL on the falcon. Starcannon, Scatterlaser or Shuricannons are probably better options unless you want to pillbox it.

wow that was fast, I wanted the bright lance so that the falcon would be good at taking out terminators and tanks. Maybe I'm wrong but I felt like if I mixed the guns, it would make it less effective at this I can't remember the rules of splitting fire at the moment, and if one of the guns gets shot off then its just redundancy I guess :/


What about the rest?

There's no splitting fire, but the BL is terrible on the Falcon because you'll have to choose between firing it or the pulse laser if you move. That's very bad.

Could you be a bit more specific with your list? What does the Scorp Exarch have? What does "fully-kitted" imply? etc.

oh sorry, harlequins have kisses and shadow seer, falcon has stones and such, dragons have fire pike and tank hunter, reapers have tempest launcher and crack shot, scorpions have the claw on the exarch.

People in my club apparently really don't like eldrad, so I might replace with karandras, or asurmen. Does karandras have 7 s9 attacks at initiative 1 or am I combining the rules wrong? And can he join a unit of non-scorpions and infilitrate?\

The star cannon's okay, but I think the cheaper scatter laser would be better. Or, for the price of a star cannon, take the scatter and add a shuriken cannon. (Disclaimer: may not work so well for 5th ed, depending on how those new vehicle rules work out.)

Is it the case that you'll be hiding the Reapers out of LoS and just using the Exarch's indirect fire? If so, I think it's a waste of points. You'd be better off with another Prism instead, like Tacobake says.

By "really don't like", you mean they think he's uber? Rather unfair of them to ban him in this way. Karandras gets 7 PF attacks when not charging, yes, but only at S8; you don't get to combine the scorp chainsword with the claw, and he doesn't have Crushing Blow or whatever like he used to.

As for the joining/infiltrating thing:

1) He cannot join aspect warriors that aren't scorpions.

2) Exarch powers only transfer to aspect warriors and Autarchs.

3) Even if the unit in question were aspect warriors (say, if he joined a squad of Scorps), he would not be able to give them the benefit of his Infiltration, because there is no way to attach him to them before the battle.

To get the points you need, and a few extra, I'd drop the Exarch and his upgrades from the FD squad. You don't need the firepike and TH; they're overkill. The only worthwhile Exarch is one with a flamer and Crack Shot, to add flexibility.

Alternatively, you could drop the falcon's star cannon down to a shuriken cannon, for exactly enough points. It will spend a lot of time shaken anyway (okay, maybe less than usual with two Prisms in the list to draw fire).
