I was looking over the tankbustas entry and thinking about adding some tankhammers to the unit. the rules for the tankhammer say:

A Tankhammer is a two-handed weapon that confers S10 in the Assault phase.

If I understand correctly then, in hth it would strike at Intitative, with the full number of attacks since it doesn't stipulate otherwise? So 3 attacks on the charge?

Sorry if this seems obvious, but it almost seems to good.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

sounds like. I don't think they ignore armour saves though, unless it says so.

yeah bro they are S10 at Initiative.
They just don't do anything else.
2 Tankhammers and a PK nob might be kinda fun.

Plus ork Initiative is so bad, that it doesn't really add that much of an advantage. Plus it's two handed so you don't get extra attacks in CC.

That doesn't really impact the decision to take them or not - all orks have the same gak int, and no tankbusta boy gets extra attacks in hth anyway - they only have rokkits or tankhammers. So if you expect them to be in combat at some point - or you face a lot of big bugs all the time, might as well have some S10 weapons for hth.

In my opinion tankhammas have 3 pros.

#1, they are great at busting vehicles wich is not suprising as this is what they are designed for.

#2, having a few tank hammas meen you can easilly choose wich models will be releasing the squigs, as they cant shoot they may as well be the ones letting them go.

#3, on the off chance (usually 100% as its orks) that they do end upp in CC they fight on I with their full number of attacks with a S10 weapon.
The drawback of the weapon in CC is that it does not count as a powerweapon however do not forget if you are facing FNP models or necrons that models taken out by the tankhammas will deny FNP and WBB rolls for models with T5 or lower.

Wether or not you should take them is upp to you... but the models look great

In short GW rulings are void!

It isnt so overpowering. My wraithguards are toting around S10 MC armor rolls and ignore saves at initiative with rerolls to hit ( Possibly with rerolls on a 3+ save and to wound, depending on how i'm playing the 'seer), on a model that costs less than 120 points

Well on the bright side you can would things like wraithlords on 2+ however they get thier saves. Still those guys can be a pain to wound. THey can also instakill a warboss if he fails his save.

I think the tankhammer's real strength is in fighting walkers. Without them you must take the one attack at a 6 to hit with tankbusta bombs, while tankhammers hit on WS with multiple attacks.

I didnt even think of that. Not that walkers are so hot anyhow in this edition though. And I do think that even though the wraithlord still gets his save, I imagine that the tankhammers are one of the better things to take against them just on the virture of that 2+ wound

Too true, could easily see my dread blood raging in to receive a tankhammer in the face. Assuming he magically weathered all the S8 rokkit fire up til then!

It seems a lot like my singing spear for Eldar, except the SS is a wounds on 2+ STR 9 against vehicles and you can shoot with it as assault 1 12"
