Afraid not. Too much GW design, and a couple of GW parts still in there.

Back at work on the Inquisitor: Started filling in the back armour, added sleeves, basic shape for shoulder pads, elbow guard on left arm, and started in the framework for the Psychic hood.

I REALLY like the pose so far!

I must confess, the Inquisitor's chest was bugging me. The breastplate was a just a little too much like a couple of watermelons strapped to her chest... something which my fiance was quite amused about.

So, egged on by derisive cackling, I took a scalpel and gave her (the inquisitor, not my fiance) a quick masectomy, smoothed down the breastplate, and added new, slightly more reasonable breasts, thusly:




They look a little odd, due to being bright green on a grey background. That should correct itself somewhat as I add the rest of the detailing (vertical stripe like on the SoB armour, Inquisition badge in the centre of the breastplate, respirator at the neckline, and probably some cabling from the psychic hood)

The wings on the jet bike folded up like that make it look like a swan boat , like one you would push around with a long stick on a romatic stroll threw a swan filled lake .

Hey insaniak i just found your work and wow. This stuff is great, just one thought on the dreadnought i thought that the melta gun was acually in the face of the hammer itself, so when you hit down with it they get the force of the hammer as well as the power of the melta, jst my idea.

A little more progress on the Inqusitor:

Added the start of an Inquisition symbol on her breastplate, added the first half of her respirator, and the next layer on her psychic hood.

Another commission project... I'm building a squad of Sternguard marines, in a similar style to my old Alpharius embiggening project, although without all the trimmings. These guys will be a bit more businesslike, with unadorned armour and lots of veteran-y kit and bionics.

So, starting with a whole slew of bits:




I began removing extraneous detail from the legs:




One of the design features requested on this job was lengthened bolters, possibly in the style of the M41A Pulse Rifle from Aliens.

So, I did a quick mock-up, to see if I could make something vaguely pulse-rifle-ish that still says 'bolter'...

The bolter looks good like that - very cool.

Starting with terminator legs - hmmm - should be excellent.

Oh, I like the lengthened bolters VERY MUCH.

All that much more appropriate for Sternguard!

It's meant to be weedy... going from the pulse rifle, it's actually a little large. I was considering replacing it with something a little more like the stock on a 2nd edition bolter.

Hm, I think you misunderstood. I dont mean the stock itself, but the "connection" to the rest of the bolter. Theres sort of a gap, and that kinda looks awkward (to me).

Please dont use those 2ne Ed bolter stocks. Thosere are horrible Old school maybe, but still horrible.

Also got the wing options sorted on the jetbike...

So, I started in for real, cutting the basic wing shape out of thick plasticard:



Then cut a feather 'template' out of similarly thick plasticard, and used that to trace out all of the feathers with which to plate the wing panel:



And then started sticking the feathers on, overlapping each slightly over the previous.



Realised at about this point that the front of the wing was the wrong shape, so trimmed it down:

A little late to comment on the dread, but it turned out FANTASTIC. The arm options are incredible, especially the proxy quad-autocannon and twin heavy flamer.

That appears to be a lasgun stock.

Indeed, but he mentioned the intention to replace them with something similar to the 2nd Ed bolter stock

Wow, you have some serious modelling skills. I really like the Exo scouts and the Dreadnought, but so far I am really interested in finding out how your female inquisitor comes out.

I love the pre heresy work so far, looks amazing! Are you going to do a Grey Knights style Rhino? If you dont know what it means its from the Horus Heresy :Collected Visions. Its a Rhino with Land Speeder style thrusters instead of tracks. It looks amazing!

If you mean the grey stuff, it's a modeling putty called ProCreate. Similar to Green Stuff, but sets a little harder and is slightly different to work with... not as sticky, and better for forming hard edges.

Sounds interesting. But no, no plans to do anything like that. The Dreadnought was a one-off commission job.

Re-worked the Inquisitor's storm bolter mount to allow vertical pivot:




And started building her a thunder hammer. The standard Terminator thunder hammer was a little too big for her. Looked awkward. So I'm scaling it down a little.



The head will get a little bulking out and some detail work.

Mostly painted in base colours and then hit with a coat of Devlan Mud, with a few bits and pieces picked out afterwards.

And finally for today: A little more work on the embiggened marines...

Extended the bolter magazine slightly, and added a scope:




And finished cleaning up torso and leg pieces... so here's a group shot. The plastic tubing on the legs of a few of them will be flished out into bionic legs.

I am really looking forward to progress on some of these projects. Especially the marines and the inqusitor. The hammer is looking great and the bolter mod is really growing on me.
