Not a leviathan no In fact 2 seperate Apocalypse units
More previews tonight after I get the body assembled Automatically Appended Next Post: As promised here is my progress so far on the first of 2 projects.
I took some of these very nice track parts
And started to fit them up to the baneblade chassis
I ended up having to trim off all of the stock *alignment tabs* to get things to fit nicely, but not a huge deal. I also ended up taking one *link* out of the track on the main flat for slightly better fitment
After minimal fussing and messing around here is hte final product
Can you see where I screwed up?
How bout now?
As with all resin conversion kits I have ever worked with there is always some fine trimming and fitting to get things to fit nice and tight!
Has anybody figured out what I am building yet??
And how bout now, can you see what I screwed up now?
Thankfully an easy fix as the glue had not completely welded it together yet
This is way too much fun!
Has anybody figured out what I am building yet??

Leave it to JB to get the 1st of 2 big bad tanks right!
Here is tonight's progress:
Trim, trim, trim
Fitting better already
Tops and sides fit well
Say hello to my little friends
eep.... time for a mid model cleaning! Limited desk space = no room for mess!
And now on to more trimming
and more fitting
I just realized exactly how massive an amount of bitz I'm going to have left over after this!
I may have to buy 2 more tanks and make some magnetized units with interchangeable turrets
More to follow tomorrow! Automatically Appended Next Post: Tomorrow will be mold release compound removing day and maybe time to glue my second track together

That Doomblaster is going to be amazing!
I am still curious about the other one. I will dispatch a flock of servo skulls to spy on you. Automatically Appended Next Post: Hmmm. You have a Shadowsword kit so you might be crafting an unholy Falchion or Decimator.
Forget the servo skulls. I think a Grey Knight task force needs to descend upon your office and wipe clean the taint of chaos.

Thanks! They are beautiful kits and I can't to have them finished. The tracks especially are a very very nice touch!
inmygravenimage wrote:That one serious bad boy! I would kitbash/scratchbuilt a plague lord or something with the leftovers.
I will have to pull them all out ans see what I actually have left over. basically the whole top half of the tank from what I can tell.
If they don't end up being another superheavy for my army they could very easily end up as part of an ork model for my brother's army.
That project however will stay in the background for a bit

Insane is the truth! I really need to stop buying more... oh wait... my Main army is the next codex released... Damn you GW for getting me addicted to plastic crack!!!!!...
I agree. I really need to start painting up squads of dudes and just getting them out of the way one block at a time.
On a different note I did make quite a lot of progress last night
I got the second track built
There are a few joints that I am going to have to GS but In general the track kit was excellent. Nothing a small amount of mud won't hide
I washed all of the resin parts and started gluing stuff on like crazy
The back end
Once I got the main body permanently glued it was time to fit the cannons again
I should be able to finish this one up before I go to sleep tonight
Then on to the tower of skulls!
P.S. I really really need to remove that imperial eagle on the front of this thing...

So I acheived both of my goals last night. Here is the completed Doomblaster I'm very pleased with the final product and can't wait to paint it up! Now I just need to tackle this mess Resin parts always come hand in hand with a pile of trimming! I got everything rough trimmed last night and ready to wash tonight. After I get the parts washed I will more than likely be assembling the Baneblade chassis in prep for parts to be added This is super fun!

Haha! Thanks for stopping in!
I guess this means I don't need to email you pictures anymore
I looked over the parts as I was removing flash and mold channels yesterday and I think I have a good handle on the model but I will get a hold of you if I have any trouble
As far as paint I will spray this when I get home next week and see how far I get! Automatically Appended Next Post: Sooooo I got a little lazy tonight and am going to bed early but I got a few things done first:
here is the fun from last night.... soooo much scrap
I clipped out the new Baneblade body
and washed this massive pile of parts
What the hell have I gotten myself into?? lol
and here I just test fit the new upper body on the hellcannon chassis
Apparently the back end is wider than the front... Thankfully it doesn't make a difference on the other model

Thanks Skalk!
Yeah it's a paint but with the right tools isn't too bad at all
There will still be lots of trimming and fitting of parts to make them mate up well Resin is almost never perfect.
I have however been very impressed with the fitment of these kits so far ! I just need to find myself a piece of sandpaper to clean up some flat edges

So I got quite a bit of work done yesterday again.
I assembled the basic Baneblade chassis and then went after the first section of the tower.
It took a little bit of figuring out to get started but there are several alignment grooves and everything slid togeather smoothly in the end.
And somewhere in the middle of this I managed to glue my entire left hand..... I still don;'t know where the glue was leaking out. it's almost as though I squeezed an entire tube of glue into my hand >.<
Shortly after this I quit and went to bed
SOme of the mould release is being stubborn on these parts so I may be cleaning them again today

I got some more done last night:
Cleaned and trimmed all these little bitz
Annnnnd TADA! Once again I wish i could have made some of the lignes tighter but it looks good anyway
Is that Dakka in the background?
And finally a quick test fit on the chassis before bed
I plan to finish off the last few bitz on the top tonight and then start work on the chassis. I haven't started trimming tracks yet so the chassis is going to be at least 2 days out 4 more days before I have to move it
