Who's going to post the descent and landing? I assume we're descending via drop pod.

I was wondering that too, how do bikes get to the battlefield? I like to imagine they are shot out of the torpedo bays on the ship, but i doubt it.

They would be deployed by Thunderhawk or some other form of dropship I assume.

After the initial drop i will use stormbirds to bring all armored units including biker squads on the planet.

You will get the choice either as part of my retinue so we go stick together or with drop pod.

I thought I was part of a Tactical Squad

@Blap, you could be seconded to a command squad, though most likely you'd just be deployed via drop pod with your squad. Fancy teaming up with Morias' unit?

Also, where are we dropping? I assume we'll be securing the capital of the planet. Take out the heart, the rest will soon follow. Either that or be demoralised or somesuch.

I thought biker squads acted reconassonce and support for the vanguard. Attacking the enemy emplacements behind their lines as they are distracted by the main attack,

I have a squad. Sternguard. But they travel in a seperate transport. I meet up with them upon landing.

Yes after the initial beachhead when a drop zone is secured you will all be deployed directly.

That could happen. Acting on your Torpedo idea, make 'em boarding torpedoes and fire at buildings. Hilarity ensues as the Sergeant tries to disembark into a tree.

I think I'll just split up with everybody, maybe commandeer a Grav-Chute.

Generic veteran squads yes, but I don't think they were using any of the special rounds at that point.

Ok then, sternguard equivalent. Different, pre-heresy ammo types. Less exotic. just things like armour piercing, incendiary, etc?

My thoughts too, I assumed the GM would write up the descent so we could get straight down to the business of doing what Marines do best.
