They really nerfed the crap out of Psycannons huh? What is their use now that they are Salvo weapons and you can barely lay any shots down?

They cost a ton, but seem terrible. Am i wrong?

Well if Paladins were 10 points cheaper, they'd only be like 11 more points expensive than a regular terminator; would that really be enough to warrant 1 extra WS and wound? That seems pretty significant.

In my list right now, I cut them out though, since I used to love the fact they could roll extra psycannons; but like I said earlier, I'm not exactly sure why I'd take them now.

Termies are relentless, psycannons work fine on them since they get full shots at full range even if they move. PA GK are not, and as such, it's incinerators or nothing, which is why you never, ever see PA GK since termies are troops.

They're still not great for lots of stuff, but it's them, incinerators or stormbolters, so there's not a lot of argument.

Have you played against a riptide yet? If no, go find a tau player and have them educate you. If yes, that's (one of the many reasons) why 2W 2+ T4 models don't mean crap.

Nemesis strikeforce
ML3 libby
1 unit of terminators
pair of dreadknights with your weapons of preference and personal teleporter

Rinse and repeat until points limit or add allies to cover weaknesses. Take the book on your first libby, the armour or the glaive on the 2nd if you double up. Add Draigo and some psychers to a unit of grav cents for the lulz in a semicompetative meta.

Your entire army tends to be made of 2+ saves, so have fun playing against marines toting grav on everything.

I obviously need to review the Relentless rule. So termies can fire all 4 shots, and charge, even when using Salvo weapons? I used them most when they used to be Heavy 4.

I haven't played against a riptide in the latest edition, but yea, it was pretty mean when I played against it before without Draigo catching shots up front, which would be worse now since they nerfed him down to T4.

That list sounds a bit like what I put together for my current list, except I have 3 DKs, and one rhino with strikes/psy for shooting on the go and objective holding.

Draigo has Eternal Warrior so his T vs high Str doesn't matter. He'll still only take 1 wound per wound. But he'll still go down to volume of fire.

Yes, Relentless means you can fire Salvo weapons at full range with all their shots and still move/charge. Psycannons on Terminators were completely unaffected by the switch from Heavy 4 to Salvo 4/2.

You can't fit 3 DKs in a single Nemesis Strike Force.

Edit: To clarify, the list Drasius posted is a 'Nemesis Strikeforce' which is a special detachment available to Grey Knights. It's in the codex. You use that detachment instead of a 'Combined Arms Detachment'. A Nemesis Strike Force only requires 1 Troops choice but is limited to 2 Heavy Support Choices (which is why you can't fit 3 DKs). The main advantage is that you can Deep Strike on turn 1. But there's no limit to how many Detachments you can include in your army. So Drasius is suggesting that you take multiple copies of that list to create a single list.

I guess I was just using the standard 2 troops model, one strike and one termie squad. I figured that was still available! Although right now I'm basically just playing with a friend on occasion since I wouldn't have any time still to go to my FLGS and do a tournament or anything.

Being able to DS on turn one is pretty badass though...

Also I want to take psycannons!

The basic 2 Troops model (Combined Arms Detachment) is indeed still available. So you can play that if you want. It gives your Troops 'Objective Secured' so it has it's own advantage.

The 'Nemesis Strike Force' is just a nice thing for Grey Knights. You lose Objective Secured but you gain the 1 Troop requirement and the ability to Deep Strike on turn 1. I love it because it means I don't need to start my Terminators on the board and fear being wiped before they can Deep Strike.
