I've re-read your post several times, and just can't parse out what you are trying to ask.

My apologies for wasting your time wasn't quiet awake when typing.

What I was wondering was; what psychic power of sanctic would you miss if you take libby that rolls on telepathy and draigoand the question If it is worth taking a ml 2 libby to get the ones you miss?

I have one often forgotten piece of advice. Take a comms relay. 20 points for re-rolling all reserve rolls you want. It will save your life. Many times.

Without telling you what list to build, I also suggest choosing a single method of deployment and working around it, I.E. Raider Rush, mass Teleporters, etc. Sending out several heavy transports like the Storm Raven and Land Raider is a great choice because it overwhelms your opponent with target saturation and heavy-handed targets that ignore 75% of enemy weapons fire. Of course, the weakness here is Necrons. Excellent when supported by Interceptors with incinerators cleaning out problematic units (Pathfinders, Necron Warriors, etc).

If I take one Libby, it would be to roll on Sanctic because Sanctic synergizes with the GK as a force multiplier. If I took a second Libby or a GM, I'd roll on Divination. Telepathy is a strong discipline, but it does not have what I want for my army; Sanctic does.

I thought the final word on this is that you could not take a comms relay without taking a fortification, thus it would be more than 20 points?

Let me know if I have that wrong because I'd love to do this with my own GK's.

Yes, you would need at a minimum the 50 point Aegis Line first, or the 55 pt Bunker.

Right, not in an all-deep strike list

Couldn't a puragator squad on a adl be better, can they move as the tau ones?

You can also just stick a dreadknight or 2 behind the comm relay, and just shunt them once they've brought in your reserves (which is likely turn 1 anyway with nemesis strike force). If you're going for an alpha strike at 1500 pts and above the 70 points are worth it.

I thought of a cheeky all GK list while coming up with my own as a counter to the claim that GK are not competitive. Use at your own discretion.

Cheese Knight List

Edit: Even cheesier

Combined Arms Detatchment

Strike Squad
-incinerator

Five dreadknights. lol. You can do something similar with two NSF detachments and only end up with 2 strike squads and a measly four dreadknights, but with two purifier squads w/ incinerator+rhino and a ADL w/ comms.

It's kind of like running 5 Imperial Knights. It'll crush some lists and lose badly to others. A Cent star would have a field day.

Yeah, it isn't even close to being cheesy. Almost competitive and obnoxious, but still not the most fantastic.

Or not - Demonhosts don't actually have the Demon USR. The only way I can think of to game the Bone Shard without Come The Apocalypse allies would be to bring Eldar allies with an Avatar of Khaine, but then ewwww Eldar...

Just strip all the libby upgrades, the hammers, replace the termies with strike squad, and run bare teleporters and powerfists with the DKs and you can take draigo too.

In a straight up fight, but you could easily play kill point denial with the DK teleporters and just claim objectives while waiting out the clock.

Deny a Centstar kill points? Have you ever played against a Centstar while using DKs? If they're running Draigo then there's literally no where to hide. Even without Draigo, all they need is to be able to see a DK's foot and they can kill one.

Believe it or not, playing 5 or 6 DKs is going to be rock/paper/scissors.

I disagree. One Centstar against 6 NDKs will die on T2.

T1: 6 Dreadknights shunt into charge range.
T1: 1 NDK dies from grav
T2: 5 NDKs charge the star.

With Draigo in there, it would be a much harder nut to crack. But I think it would only be proper for Draigo and the DKs to have a gentlemen's truce.

I guess you are right however there probably ways To tarpit or make sure the charge doesn't go off. I guess you can challenge out draigo so he Cant tank for the unit.

What's the point value of a censtar these days?

One NDK will destroy a Centstar (so long as Draigo isn't there tanking and they're not invisible).

A Centstar isn't a Centstar if it doesn't have invisibility, Draigo or both. Otherwise they're just Centurions...

And I've seen a Centstar kill 2 DKs in one turn with splitfire. The splitfire shouldn't kill a full DK, but it'll hurt one enough for support units to finish it off.

Imagine an invisible Draigo with Force activated... Normally a Centstar like that would just Gate out of combat but I'd be tempted to just let Draigo destroy all of those DKs with Invisibility, Eternal Warrior, Force and 3+ invul. You've practically handed your entire army to them.

The tactic to beating a Centstar is to kill everything else in their army and play the objectives... and hope it's not kill points. It's an uphill battle either way.

Recenty played a 1650 pt tau army which had a death star of 20 plasma rifles just the sheer amount of shots and a bit of unlucky saves just took my army piece by piece, so a centstar would be even more nasty:/

I guess I think of Centstars as Centurions with some kind of beast stick character and/or Psychic support; Invisibility is just the best version. And yes, with shooting, they can take out two NDKs. However, in close combat the NDK will utterly crush them.
