The Emperor of Man. Takes up one HQ, Elites, Troops, Fast Attack and Heavy Support choices. He does not count as any of your compulsory choices, and he deploys at the same time as an HQ choice.

Fantasy used to do this, with uber Special Characters that took up extra Hero or Rare slots.
In general, this is a bad thing, as it encourages power units, along with breaking the simplicity of having one unit per slot.

We have that. It's called Apocalypse.
What sucked was having people spring VDR monstrosities in "normal" games, or insist on playing them in tournaments and leagues.
