Subject: Harry the Hammer in 40K?

Unhealthy Competition With Other Legions
Ashburnham, Massachusetts

I don't play Warhammer Fantasy at all, but love to play 40k. ( 4ish years of experience) I am intrigued by this Harry the Hammer character that is only being released for two days. http://us.games-workshop.com/games/warhammer/WH25/harryrules/rules.htm " target="_new" rel="nofollow"> http://us.games-workshop.com/games/warhammer/WH25/harryrules/rules.htm If he is worth 365 points in Fantasy, what would that be equivalent to in 40K? By equivalent to, I mean does anyone know what the hightest point character is in 40k? I know Ork Warlord Ghazghkull Thraka is 205 points min., but what other models have high point value?
The reason I ask is because I think it would be awesome if GW released primarch models, and I know they had a Leman Russ model, but I didn't play back then so never experienced a game with a primarch on the table. So before they release rules for primarchs for Apocalyse games, could GW test run rules in Fantasy so that if they released them in 40K, the rules would flow? I'm asking because I'm looking for creative answers. So please reply in the most creative and imagery and unnegative ways possible.

Harry is far, far from the most expensive character in WHFB, just so you know. In 40k, if you exclude IA and other semi-official rules, the most expensive IC is the Nightbringer at about the same cost as Harry.
I don't know how one could test a character for 40k in WHFB. The stats may be similar, but the game is totally different.

problem with 40k, 40k has Lascannons.
Is a Primarch a big space marine or a demon prince style monstrous creature?

They never had rules for Lemun Russ, far as I know, just a model. 40k and fantasy don't really 'translate' from one to another. To use something like Harry in 40k, you could either use him as a Chaos Lord and give him rules from the codex, no one would care that you're using the fantasy model. Or no one in my area, at least. For more complex rules similar to what he gets in fantasy, you'd just have to wing it, make stuff up, throw it on paper, and ask the people you play what they think the points should be.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

Since there's really no true undead in 40k, harry's special abilities would be pretty useless translated directly over. I guess you could make him into a necron killing machine though, that would be entertaining.

If he's 360 points of Fantasy, then he's 16% of a 2250

Isn't Archaon the most expensive model in Warhammer? If I remeber correctly he is something like 750 pts. (though he is a total beast...)

I doubt it.
Most GW fans just can't relate to a bunch of hairy fat guys. Green monsters, bugs and androgynous pretty boys yes. But not hairy fat guys.
Just too far from their day to day lives.

I'm not sure, but I don't think so. I seem to vaguely recall that there is a Dark Elf and/or Vampire Counts character (though maybe that was only in the older army book) which is more points-heavy.

I'd be willing to bet that the Slaan special character (Lord Kroaq? Something like that) is more expensive than Archaon.
