I've been thinking about building a Warlord Titan for my Chaos forces. My army is very "tech" themed as opposed to a demon theme. I was going to do a Banelord, but the randomness of the frenzy rules killed it for me. With that being said, what would be your weapon configuration and why for a Warlord if you were going to field one?

Based on some numbers I've run and the modeling coolness, I've arrived at:

Carapace 1 - Turbo-laser Destructor
Carapace 2 - Turbo-laser Destructor
Arm 1 - Gatling Mega-blaster
Arm 2 - Laser Blaster

With that config, it can just about 1 shot a Warhound Titan. It can also kill about 24 MEQs, all at 72". I was thinking about making it more anti-armor than anti-troop. The highest MEQ killer config would kill about 35 per turn, but uses 2x Mega-bolters, which are trash vs armor and can't take advantage of tightly grouped units. It also can only take about 2 AV 14 vehicles a turn, while the config above can take out about 4, 5+ with good template drift and placement.

If ever fix my disgrace of a warlord (way too small and no legs) and I want it to be destructive and reasonably flexible, I would probably go with what you have there. Now for me though, I see the Warlord more as a way to combine some of the most powerful and hilariously destructive weapons (and their goes his armored spearhead HA HA.....) into one nigh-indestructible super transformer. I think the best part is that it can still annihilate my enemy when it dies. If I ever get a chance when I know It'll get killed by my opponent in the next shooting phase I can just march it up to the enemy line and wait for the fireworks. HOPEFULLY my enemy will be so distracted by the fact that they finally get to kill the monster of a Titan that they will forget in its death-throes it's gonna take some guys with it.

Anyway...
I think I'd give mine a Laser Blaster and Plasma Destructor for arm weapons and for Carapace weapons I'd give it a Turbo-laser and the Vortex Missile just so can have some laughs when a 10" circle of my opponent's models with saves magically vanish.

Go with a Speeder landing pad and 3 Multi Rockits, or better yet a devotional bell and chian fist/powerfist combo....

Oh, this isnt epic. What are titans doing on the board then?

Its apocalypse, go for what looks coolest, not what you think plays the best.

More like "It's Apocalypse; go for whatever you like best." Which could well be what makes the biggest and nastiest explosions and not what "looks coolest." Clearly the OP is interested in what plays best, and who are you to say he's wrong to be?

I never said he was wrong. I expressed my opinion on the matter and that was what looked best.

He asked what we would equip it with. Not what would do the most destruction.

I would equip it with what look coolest. Sadly however, they didnt include all the Epic options as some of those would have looked wicked.

Okay, fair enough.

Well, you see, as there is no official model, looking cool will purely be based on my interpretation of how the weapons should look. There are only a hand full of pictures of the Warlord and only 1 of those is labeled. The labeled on is on page 124 shows weapons I don't plan on using. However, this pic shows 2x Turbo-laser Destructor and Gatling Blaster. The other arm can't be scene:

If I can get close to that, I'll be happy

No it has 2 the other one is obscured by the mountian/smoke/banner, you can see the hip joint right before the mountains peak.

The other fist is a Volcano Cannon. This is the Imperius Dictatio from the Titan comic series.

There are actually several official models of a warlord titan. The warlord has been around since Adeptus Titanicus. There are also alot of pictures of warlord titans in all of the EPIC literature and rulebooks, and old white dwarves.

No problem. I know alot of new dakka users haven't even seen my titan.
I will say if you can find it the Titan graphic novel has an amazing story as well as some great reference pictures for the warlord.

No official 40K scale model. I've always considered the artwork to be rough or ideal interpretation as the models rarely match it in detail.

A warlord in epic is taller than a dread. It has plenty of detail and would be a great basis. Most Warlords are based off of that style.
