=Revised list below=

Looking to expand on my 1500pt list (thanks for the comments on that). As it has done well so far, I decided not to deviate too far from what I have going already.

Doctrines:
Iron discipline
Close order drill
Drop troops

HQ
Junior officer, honorifica imperialis, iron discipline, vet with standard (81)
Fire support squad, 3 autocannons (95)
Fire support squad, 3 autocannons (95)

Troops
Junior officer, iron discipline, 2 flamers (57)
Squad 1, lascannon, plasma gun (95)
Squad 2, lascannon, plasma gun (95)
Squad 3, lascannon, plasma gun (95)
Squad 4, lascannon, plasma gun (95)

Junior officer, iron discipline, 2 flamers (57)
Squad 1, lascannon, plasma gun (95)
Squad 2, lascannon, plasma gun (95)
Squad 3, lascannon, plasma gun (95)
Squad 4, lascannon, plasma gun (95)

Fast Attack
Hellhound, extra armor, smoke (123)

Hellhound, extra armor, smoke (123)

Heavy Support
Leman Russ, 3 heavy bolters, extra armor, smoke (163)

Leman Russ, 3 heavy bolters, extra armor, smoke (163)

Basilisk, indirect fire (125)

Total - 1842, 107 men, 5 tanks

I'm a fan of using split deployment, so I aimed to make the list be able to be split evenly down the middle. The exception to that being the basilisk and the CHQ, which would be placed to support one side or the other. Not sure how to spend the remaining 8 points (search lights on all the vehicles and bolters for the officers?)

All suggestions for improvement/pointing out what sucks is appreciated.

The amount of troops will be good in 5th ed if the 'only troops can hold objectives' is true. other than that it looks a pretty solid list, most things can support each other in battle- only tip would be maybe put Basilisk and Comand squad in centre of table-it stops your enemy from being able to focus on just one flank if it is close combat heavy- means help can arrive quicker

the remaining points can go towards stuff that could help vs. iniltrators (surveyor), bolters/bolt pistols, and otherwise trivial things. it really doesn't matter at this point as you can't do much else with the pts.

other than that i like the list but think a line squad or two could use some anti infantry weapons. that's my two cents

I could drop the basilisk and one las/plas squad for three squads with heavy bolters.

keep the basilisk, but change out two of the lascannons for two AC's or two HB's that way you have infantry that can deal with enemy infantry well, especially when they are en'masse. also 6 lascannons will do fine at this point level

Dropping two lascannons to heavy bolters (and plasma to flamers, that seems like a fairly popular combo) would bring extra points up to 46. Enough to get a SWS with a demo charge, sentinel or a small squad of ratlings.

exactly, more men, and more anti infantry

Spent 2 points on Searchlights and 1 point on... uhh... guess it doesn't really matter.

Otherwise perfect.

I think at this point, the only possible suggestion I can give is to use your last point on giving your Command JO a Bolt Pistol.

Other than that, I'm with HBMC and Bastirous. It's looking solid.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling, which thinks that nothing is worth war, is much worse. The person, who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
