I managed to finally get my revised Chaos list (my old was last used shortly after Ravening Hordes and had tons of warriors and a pretty poor paint job) painted up and ready for a GT. Most of it was actually painted and assembled last week, and I didn’t get any practice games except for a club challenge Friday night, but I had a great time and it was a great change of pace from Wood Elves.

Therion helped me with the list a year ago, so credit to him in particular for a couple of tweaks and pushing me to go all-Slaanesh and work in the marauder cav. I really like them.

Having now used it, I have to say I’m happy with everything except the Exalted Champ, and (to a limited extent) the Furies.

The champ was originally supposed to have the Berserker Sword, but the list turned out to be over on points and I downgraded him. Big mistake. He really wants extra attacks. Also, given the nature of the tournament (up to 10 bonus tournament points over the tournament for owning or having captured a BSB by the end of the game), I really would have been better off with a BSB. I’m fairly sure having one would also have turned one of my games (my Draw) into a Win as well, which would have been worth at least five more tourney points in that game. While I love the Steed of Slaanesh model, an Aspiring BSB on a regular chaos steed would have done more for me in the tournament, and the Exalted just wasn’t killy enough with the kit I gave him.

The Furies would definitely be better at my traditional eight models. In one game they would most likely have popped a vampire lord if they had been.

Right now I’m awaiting the revised Warriors of Chaos list in the next WD with bated breath.

give your exalted champion the pendant of slannesh (if you lose a wound you get an extra attack) and blade of blood (every unsaved wound you do take a strength test if passed you gain a wound)
making him have nearly unlimited attacks and since he is toughness 5 you only lose wounds on 6+

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like a pretty good combo. I originally had the Berserker Sword on him, which would have been much better than the Sword of Might. He needs the extra attacks.

i'm holding my breath too for the new warriors of chaos list... i hope they don't completely throw out my khorne fast army
