OK, so I am not sure if there are any topics on this that I missed, but seeing as I have limited to no web access right now I just need to make this as quick as I can. I am looking to make a Snikrot to lead my Kommando's. Any suggestions on good bits to piece him together. Figure I will use some of this stuff we have in spools to make barbed wire terrain around his wrists for the chains shown in the picture. Prolly go light on gearing him as it says in the fluff he cut his kit down to bare minimums. But I still need some suggestions on the knives... the ones on the various Ork sprue's seem to short, in the picture they are slender and jaggy. And any other suggestions for bits for his body etc are very welcome.

I'd recommend cutting new knives from plasticard, it isn't that difficult and you can make mean looking weapons (it's also good for adding subtle variation in boyz units). Look for the most lightly armoured nob body you can find for the base model. As for wargear modelled on, a couple of stickbomms and some pouches and I'd leave it at that. The GS beret is always popular too. I look forward to seeing the results

Opinions are like arseholes. Everyone's got one and they all stink.

I used a Nob Torso, Boyz arms, a pair of legs from a WHFB set (I think they may have come from the Chariot sprue, but not sure) as they looked slightly larger than the regular Ork boy legs, and plasticard for the knives.

Looks like this:

Wow, thats some nice sculpting there, especially on the base. How much green stuff did you use to make him? It looks almost 50% greenstuff *wishes he could sculpt*

Let's see... I made an exact duplicate of the artwork for snikrot using nothing but plastic pieces... and a small amount of chain from a model RR store...

Nob head
Biker nob torso
Ork Legs
Biker Nob handlebar arms, with handlebars removed
the more swordsy looking choppa from the boyz sprue in each hand, cut and hacked to look like his blades in the artwork
Model RR chain wrapped around his wrists

He looks amazazing, if I do say so myself.

There is an attitude that not having an insanely optimized, one shot, six stage, omnidirectional, inevitable, mousetrap of an assassin list army somehow means that you have foolishly wasted your life building 500 points of pure, 24 karat, hand rolled, fine, cuban fail. That attitude has been shown, under laboratory conditions, to cause cancer of the fun gland.

Yeah Insaniak that rules dude. I got my conversions done, actually managed to get my Snikrot done along with my biker boss and my zagstruk. Once I get my internet back I will post some pics. But Tsunami loved 'em when I kicked his butt .

Tied and gagged in the back of your car

It's a beautiful model, but if you absolutely must use a proxy, anything on a 40mm base with 2 blades would cut it for me.

Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

I don't have pictures of my original conversion (I use the GW modeled Snikrot now that its out) but here's what I did:

1. Started with an Ork Nob.

2. Cut a cheap fake gold chain in half and wrapped it around his wrists.

3. Used two swords from a box of fantasy orks; I cut both swords off of the hands holding them since they are held up while Snikrot is holding his down. Glued those onto his hands so he had two massive blades for stabbing.

For painting the blades went black, and painted the whole model green to give him the "nude in the jungle" look, and touched him up with a loincloth and a few spikey gubbins.
