You know a cheaper way of raising Guard Leaderhsip? Command Raidii from Officers. Those things are free. And you've taken Veteran Sergeants everywhere anyway, so you're not even getting much of a benefit. And if your aim was to be Ld9 or 10 from the CHQ, why take Veteran Sergeants??????
Voxes are a waste of points. You get Ld8 or 9 for free just by being near an Officer. Don't waste your points on Voxes.
BfgHierarchy wrote:Fourthly enginseers are a must for any mechanized army
No they're not. They're a waste of a Doctrine point. Being able to occasionally repair a vehicle is not worth the cost of another squad. Besides,
your list isn't mechanised.
BfgHierarchy wrote:And fifthly vostroyan doctrines such as carapace armour are both necessary for fluff reasons and 4+ armour saves help too.
1. Don't post army lists, ask people to improve them, then throw it back in their faces with 'it's necessary for fluff'.
2. Cameleoline is half the cost and more effective and keeping you alive.
3. You're actually choosing, by choice, intentionally, to take Hardened Fighters, which is the worst Doctrine in the book alongside Cybernetic Enhancement.
BfgHierarchy wrote:I do agree with the suggestion of 8 RR all with lances, but I already have an armored fist squad and they own
Own what? And what have
AF's got to do with
RR's?
RR's are counter-assault. They're there to blunt the enemy unit before it can cause any damage in
HTH. All your
AF squad does is cost 45 points more than it needs to (Carapace, Hardened Fighters, Vox).
BfgHierarchy wrote:And for the love of god why would I not have my officers fitted for close combat, thats what officers do, they have swords and gak and they feth gak up!
Because they're T3 W1 I3 Independant Characters. They don't belong in
HTH because they're weak pathetic models that will die to Tactical Marines in a single round.
Your choices are this Heirarchy:
1. You can keep your list, bloat and all, not change and thing and stamp up and down madly about the horrific choices you've made as though they're all sparks of tactical genius.
2. You can listen to Dakka's Guard Collective, and improve your list.
The choice is yours, but before you make a choice, I'd like to point out that 235 points - that's 15% of your army - is wasted on Carapace, Hardened Fighters and Voxes. It's 1550 and you have three squads of men. Three squads of men is too little for 1000 points. Please take a look at other Guard threads (there's a bunch on the 2nd page on the army list forum I believe), and see what other people are doing.
Then get back to us.
I mean, on bloat alone we have an
HSO when you don't need one, Master Crafted Power Weapons, Frags, veterans, master Voxes, Grenade Launchers, Medics, Commissars (with no equipment!), the Tech-Priest, the Veteran Sergeant, more Voxes, Frag Grenades, more Frag Grenades, more power weapons and plasma pistols, more Frags, another Vox, 3 mixed Sentinels in the same squadron (why would you do that? The Lascannon and Multi-Laser can't kill the same targets - why would you mix them when you have Fast Attack slots spare?), Meltabombs and a Grenade Launcher in Rough Riders (Wha...?), a hull Lascannon that'll never get used on the Russ, and 5 squads with Carapace & Hardened Fighters. That's 554 points on useless bloat. That's over a 3rd of your army doing nothing for you (or 454 if you haven't bought Hardened Fighters, which kinda goes against your 'necessary for fluff reasons' claim, as Hardened Fighters is one of their Doctrines). Whether it's 554 or 454 points difference, it's irrelevent. Your army is undermanned, undergunned and overpointed. It needs help.
