I have two questions on Skarbrand.

1) Skarbrand is a Bloodthirster, Bloodthrister's have daemonic flight, Skarbrand does NOT have daemonic flight as one of his special rules. Is this an over site that will be correcting in the Deamon Codex FAQ/Errata in 2015 or intentional?

2) Skarbrand does have the fleet special rule and lacks the flight special rule as mentioned above. Due to this, do any of you see an issue using a Deamon Prince model for Skarbrand? They are both monsterous creatures and lack wings. Unless Skarbrand is offically put out as a model, the base size is subject to the model being used to represent the character. Due to the lack of flight, my WYSIWYG tells me that wings are actually bad for this model since it can't fly.

Skarbrand attacked Khorne and got his wings cut off because of it.

1) Skarbrand is a Skarbrand, as far as unit entry goes. So he has what the Skarbrand entry says, regardless of the Bloodthirster entry.

2) I dunno, I guess the model is up to you. And you could go tattered useless wings like in the pic or no wings like in the fluff, or whatever. Personally I'd do a Bloodthirster-looking model on a 60mm base with no wings / wing stumps (and I may just do that). If you think a giant mutated space marine better suits him, that's fine. Keep in mind he's armed with 2 demonic axes, so 1 sword on the DP is less than ideal.

Here is my issue:

I have a demon prince model that is pretty useless under the current set of rules due to a lack of flight. I used speed in 3rd & 4th edition for the movement mode. I like the model and don't want to convert to a winged model. I might come up with some jump pack looking item if I want an undivided "winged" prince with the model if I can't find an alternative.

I also have a pre-donkey Bloodthrister which I will continue using as a straight Bloodthirster.

This leaves me with the options to run Skarbrand on the DP model or find another, more appropriate model to use him in, other than Donkeythirster.

I like walker princes a lot under the Demon codex, and am really jonesing to run 2 in my Kr0n demons army. True, I'll be going Undivided with them as the Khorne wingless build isn't too inspiring (MoK, iron hide, unholy might), but I'm excited to get the double DPs in action. And as opposed to C:CSM I think demon DPs can walk and still be a part of the action, by dropping close and having the whole army turn the pressure up on the enemy.

As to Skarbrand, I want to run the big guy too. Since I don't have a GW BT in my army (Balrog conversion for my BT), I had thought about converting one of the metal BT with no wins and with 2 axes ftw. Though idealling I'd use Angaroth wingless with 2 axes, but that's more than a bit of a pipedream :S

Question 1 will be answered if you just read the fluff for his entry. Cliff's Notes: Tzeentch fueled Skarbrand's maddened rage to the point where he took a swing at the big guy himself, Uncle Khorne. Khorne, being a merciful god of kindness and understanding, picked him up in one meaty fist and threw him so hard that his wings burned off on a flight across the cosmos. Thus Skar has fleet, but no flight.

Question 2 is really up to whatever your opponents or tourney judges will allow. If he is your only DP model, you shouldn't have an issue, but if you run 3 ground pounding DPs and Skar looks just like the other three, you could run into WYSIWYG issues.

Yes, Skarbrand has Fleet of Foot.

No, he does not have Daemonic Flight.

This is, as others have stated, because his wings are ruined tatters. It doesn't matter that he is a Bloodthirster - if he doesn't have the rule, then he doesn't have the rule, even if the normal Bloodthirsters do.

1. Skarbrand doesnt have flight becuase his wings were ruined when khrone threw him across the realm of chaos and he when crashed.
2. You could use either of the Forge world bloodthirsters as they look suitablly angry. all you'll need is two axes. with the bloodthirster with no wings, you could get Deamon Prince wings and just sort of cut them so that they are just skeletal.
hope this helps.

Eating Michael Douglas to know what its like to get some action from Catherine Zeta Jones probably wouldn't work

Speaking of skeletal/halfly destroyed wings, why not use the new zombie dragon's wings.

Because $57.75 seems an excessive amount to pay for some wings?
