And it'll probably be cheaper than a thunderfire cannon too....

damned things are abhorrently expensive.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

With all those complaining about the SoH turned Alpha Legionaire model: how about just replacing the head?

Well, replacing the head does not solve the discussion whether the model is a SoH or an Alpha originally because the helmet definitely does not fit either Legions. It could only be that an Alpha is trying to mock someone with that outfit

If I get my hands on the model, I will use him as a SoH (using a Legion specific helmet of course).

It's funny you say that. Last time I did a comparison it was almost cheaper for Australians to collect a FW army then it was a regular plastic army. I know dreadnoughts are a few dollars cheaper for a body and two weapons and If I recall correctly the Imperial Guardsmen are roughly the same.

the declining dollar has made that calculation a little bit out of date now. Still my Elysian army cost surprisingly little when I bought it all last year, I barley buy anything from GW anymore excluding vehicles and special characters

I'm curious as to what's going to be in the Vraks reprint. I really enjoyed the fluff in those books, but hasn't almost all the rules content been parceled out elsewhere and updated? Rengades were just redone, the Red Scorpions have their rules in Anphelion, there's just Hector Rex, the campaign itself and, I imagine, the Death Korps Siege Regiment?

If the Siege Regiment gets updated, I hope they FAQ the Assault Brigade to bring the points/orders in line with the Guard codex; within my group I've just converted things myself (when vanilla unit, use values from IG codex, compared orders from 5th edition and IA13 versus IG 6th edition to figure out which orders I should be using/not using, etc) but it'd be easier for dealing with pick-up games or others to have something "official" which doesn't leave me at any more of a handicap than I'm already paying.

Of course, that implies GW hasn't begun to enforce their "no free content" embargo on FW; there's been quite the dearth of pdfing coming out of them as of late compared to yesteryear, almost nothing since 7th dropped.
I have the same question around the new edition and will be checking out the new book on Saturday to see if its worth buying, will post my thoughts after I've looked at it. I'm a massive fan of the Vraks series and played most of the entire campaign so I'll be hoping they update the lists (IA13 LotD isn't quite the same thing), the campaigns and we get a few new bits of art.

I'll be there this weekend with seven of my Knights and a few mechanicum units if anybody fancys some stompy action let me know.

Can you take a peek and see if they've changed the rules for Inquisitor Rex? I know they did a free update for him back when 6th edition hit but I'm curious if he'll get a redo now that the =I= have been forcibly split off into their own thin book.

I'm pretty ignorant with economics and stuff, but how is it out of date when neither GW or FW have changed their prices recently? Well, FW went up like 1-3 quid per product, but surely if it was cheaper to buy a FW army than a GW army then, that's still the case now? Sorry if I've missed something obvious.

I know but it says "mhara gal" then "Possessed dreadnaugt" implying that mhara gal is the name of his company in the same way how the gal vorbak became the new name for the serrated Sun's.

The Gal Vorbak was just the name of the possessed WB. The original Gal Vorbak were from the Serrated Sun chapter, but Gal Vorbak was generally just possessed marines. So I'm guessing Mhara Gal are just possessed Dreads. Either way, this is the first mention of them.

I'd agree.

If you take "Gal" to mean Posessed or Daemon, then Gal Vorbak would logically translate as "Possessed something"
whereas Mhara Gal would probably better fit "Mhara the Possessed"

Gal Vorbak is a Colchisian epiteth meaning "Blessed Sons" and was awarded to the handful survivors of the Serrated Suns chapter of the XVII legion by Logar Aurelian who returned from the ill-fated 1301st Expeditionary Fleet's journey into the Eye of Terror some 43 years before the Isstvan Dropsite Massacres.

I have a little hobby-thread going in the P&M section. Some say it's the best blog on Dakka, some don't agree, most belive it would be better if I finished at least one project some time this century and not just kept starting new ones.
Check it out, you just might like it.

Pretty weapons, but not awfully useful. Volcano cannon has always seemed inferior to Laser Blaster - over double the range and bigger blast, but one shot instead of three.

The chainfist, uh, I prefer the powerfist myself.

Originally they were, but there were other Gal Vorbak created later, usually not as powerful as the originals. The Gal Vorbak originated from the Serrated Sun guys who went into the Eye, but it's not exclusive to them.

I don't see that . In the books the humans are in control for the most part, but they are struggling to keep control as time goes on. At least that's how I was reading it until I gave up on the books. Still unmotivated to read the rest of the Vulkan Lives and Scars.
