I feel like a change from my usual list (beast heavy with Doomie in charge).
I was looking at Borka Kegslayer as an alternative. He seems to favour lots of infantry and less spell casting, and he's a lot tougher in melee and in general than good ole Doomshaper.
I was thinking of running him with some champions, some kriel warriors with UAs and some Long Riders, with a few beasties and the usual support stuff (Fell Caller and Krielstone).
How would you guys do it? And what beasts do you think complement Kegslayer?
Currently I have one of every beast bar the Winter Troll, Blitzer and Bouncer. I also have the warriors, and will be picking up the Champions when I have the money. Do you reckon Long Riders are worth the money?

Long riders as any of the hordes cavalry units give good flexibility and mobility to the list.

The problem is points cost as it is very difficult to make a balanced 500 pts list which includes them. In 750 they are a auto include IMHO.

I'm curious how Ballroom Blitz interacts with the Long
Rider slam. Does it get slammed further?

Nope.

The Long Rider slams something with his Bull Rush Special Attack, then gets his cavalry axe attack. If the cavalry axe hits, that model gets slammed per the effects of Barroom Blitz. The logic behind it is that Barroom Blitz give the first normal melee attack the effects of a slam, and Power Attacks and Special Attacks are not considered normal.

So it goes Bull Rush a model, then axe another model, and both are slammed.

For Borka, either Champions or Kriel Warriors would be fine. You just want good, solid, melee infantry with regular melee ranges to get the most out of Mosh Pit-induced free strikes.

Long Riders have obvious synergy with the feat, though it'll probably be difficult to line up double slams for the entire squad.

For beasts, I think an Impaler would work well. It can give Borka more range on his grenade and cause more slams. And you still something with high damage output, so either a Mauler or Earthborn would be good. Fill the rest of the list with what-have-you.

That's my take on it, anyways. I don't play Trolls, and I can't remember what two of Borka's three spells are, so it's possible I might be missing something.
