Found a link to this guys blog from TGN, I have to say, looks really impressive for a super simple paint job. Check out the results on A Thousand Hats.

I've been hearing many good things about this new line. I picked up a bunch at GD and can't wait to try them.
An aside; When I bought the washes I had to pick them individually because they were out of the sets. When I was checking out the teller seemed rather rude, tell me what you think...
Teller: Getting a lot of inks here...
Me: Yep...
Why didn't you just pick up the box set?
You're sold out...
You should have gotten here earlier...
Um, it's okay I'll just buy them individually...
What store do you shop at?
Um, whatever the local GW store is I guess.
You should have pre-ordered it if you wanted them.
[now I'm getting annoyed] Maybe you guys should have made & brought more of them then?
He didn't say anything after that.

I also posted a good example of a finished product using the new Citadel Washes on regular, layered paints/drybrushes, metallics, in my random army blog located here.

Recently, I decided that I didn't like how I painted goblins. For weeks I sat down and experimented to try and find a new look. The only examples I came up with that I was happy with took way too much work and time than I was willing to invest in an army with this kind of model count. When I was just about to give up hope, my pre-ordered wash set came in. Within an hour of coming home, I had the look I had been trying so hard to find. I am a little wash happy right now (trying to find a reason to use all the washes and wash everything), beyond that I have to say that I am more than pleased with the quality and results. It doesn't hurt that they are going to significantly reduce the amount of time it will take me to get all these little guys on the table and still feel that thay are at a good table top quality.

Nurgle Veteran Marine with the Flu

Gonna have to try one out. Going to finally finish those Plague Marines. Just sprayed them Bleached Bone and then did a BrownInk Wash and highlighted with Rotting Flesh and Palid Flesh. Think these new washes will get a better result.

Do any of you have some other example-pics? I am really liking what I am hearing and am thinking of getting the washes, But I would like to see some more examples of the results. (what basecolor + wich wash makes it look how) (eg snot green with darkgreen wash (don't remember name) looks like <pic& gt
If any of you can give some of those examples I would be very gratefull.
BTW the guardsmen looks great. I can't believe it is just the white guardsmen with a couple of washes...

I have played around with the washes a bit but dont have any decent pics of examples. I must say, they are perfect consistency for what they supposed to do and I can highly recommend them. They are basically pre-mixed versions of what I used to have to make myself each time I wanted to wash or glaze something, so save me a lot of time.

SHOOT, as a redshirt, I would have never said anything like that. Of course I would have pushed the pre-order while it was available, but shoot, at GamesDay to talk like that to someone buying the product, is just plain stupid. The you should have type talk is pretty condescending and doesn't accomplish anything besides pissing off the prospective customer.
The red shirt shoulda just sold him the stuff and put a damn sock in it..

I'm loving the effects of the washes. Might have to try them out this weekend. I assume a white undercoat is neccessary?

You can get a similar effect with a black undercoat and a dry brush of white, then a few layers of thin color (not quite wash thin).
Those look pretty darn good though. I will have to order a set of the inks and give them a go!

It's all about experimenting until you find a method that works for you. For this particular effect, white definitely helped the process. But if you went with what Wehrkind described, you'll get a darker version of what you see here I think. I haven't messed with these personally, but they're definitely helpful from what I'm seeing so far.
