Subject: weapons acting like PF in 5th?

The powerfist turns to 1=1 attack, pair=attack as profile.
Does this affect weapons that have"works like PF" in their description?
I'm thinking of:
Eviscerator = 2 handed,gets 2d6 vs Vehicles.
Thunderhammer = 1 hand, when damages reduce Ini to 1,gets Crew shaken.
Chainfist = identic to powerfist except 2d6 vs vehicles.
Will of be: PF+CF+TH = more than one attack only for 2?
Can't have 2 twohanded weapons,makes the eviscerator 1attack?
Your thoughts about?

It's already made the statement in the preview main book that Thunder Hammers are affected by this change, and the "functions like" note for the chainfist means it'd be hard to claim that it isn't under the same restriction. Eviscerator... you never got the extra attack for having an extra weapon because it's two-handed, so no change there.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

I am also confused. I thought the new rules just said that there was no bonus with cc weapon and pf. I never read that a pf = only 1 attack.

For PFs, THs, and LCs (still), you only get a +1 attack for 2 weapons if you have 2 of the same type. So, PF-armed vet sarges are rocking just their profile attacks, unless they take 2 of them. Makes Marneus Calgar's fists actually have a point for the first time in... well, ever.

No, they now work like lightning claws. If you're equipping the fist, you only get the +1 attack bonus for having two CC weapons if you have a pair of them.

I feel kind of stupid for asking this but you still get charge bonus attacks with the PFs right?

Yep. It is only the +1 attack from an additional CC weapons that you don't get anymore.

Obviously the Eviscerator is unchanged, because you could never claim the +1 attack for additional CCW. I am pretty sure that all weapons that count as "Powerfists" have the same drawback - Powerfists, Thunder Hammers, Chainfists and Powerklaws.

And so, due to rising costs of maintaining the Golden Throne, the Emperor's finest accountants spoke to the Demigurg. A deal was forged in blood and extensive paperwork for a sub-prime mortgage with a 5/1 ARM on the Imperial Palace. And lo, in the following years the housing market did tumble and the rate skyrocketed leaving the Emperor's coffers bare. A dark time has begun for the Imperium, the tithes can not keep up with the balloon payments and the Imperial Palace and its contents, including the Golden Throne, have fallen into foreclosure. With an impending auction on the horizon mankind holds its breath as it waits to see who will gain possession of the corpse-god and thus, the fate of humanity...... |

I fail to see how this changes anything for Terminators. Most of those choices are the only CCW they have to begin with and LCs are paired.

Not the termies? good
IC and TC only ? OK when your weapons come from a armory, just buy 2 or not.
New codices could have the option to buy paired Pf ( +relatives). What happens with
some 4th ed dex armylists ? FAQ for all or one by one?

I don't see there being "buy 2 PFs for xx pts." in later codexes; I think most PF/TH/etc-armed models will just have to accept the lack of the extra attack.

Ok, so if I have a powerfist and a bolt pistol I get to make as many attacks as my profile A+1 if charging.
For many armies this is all good and well but what about when the codex does not allow you to get a long range weapon?
Say a raptor asp, getting a powerfist gives better strength but as compared to before lowers his number of attacks.
Units that can get a rifle and a powerfist will have a clear advantage of units that have to choose between getting a rifle or a pistol and a powerfist for example unit nobs...

Is it true that the new Salamanders IC, Tu'shan has a thunder hammer and is not hit by the PF change?
If yes, we've got the first exception :S

There's no reason to give Tu'shan an exception to the rule as they could simply give him an extra attack on his profile.
