How long do you think is good enough for the player base to get acquainted with 5th edition before tournament play? Normally for new armies its the standard 1 month policy but we are after-all talking about a new edition.

Comparing tournament records is another form of e-peen measuring.

We have an RTT scheduled for the 12th at Game Empire and we are considering playing the RTT as 5th ed.

One shop I frequent is going to 5th immediately, while another shop is giving it a month or so. Both could concievably go to 5th right away since they've been letting us use the books to get some games in. I hate the limbo that comes this close to an edition change.

We're running an apocalypse game at 12:01 am on July the 12th (5th release day).
And we're starting up a league using 5th edition rules later that day!

So we're really looking forward to 5th.

I know our store will go 5th right away, not sure if I want to run another tournament between now and LV.

We've been playing 5th since the preview copy came in, except for last month's "Every first saturday of the month" apocalypse game.

I play at an actual GW store, any event involving a staffer has been played in 5th ed rules for the last month, so I'm expecting it'll take them all of like 30 minutes to switch over here.

There is going to be one last massive game played here with one game played by the old 4th, then after that another game played by the 5th.

As people get the new rulebook, the old 4th way will die out. That will take at least a week after the influx of the new stuff.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

They are doing 5th edition.

Why on earth are they doing 5th edition?

We don't have the FAQs yet to see how the different wargear/armies even interacts with 5th edition.
