Call me ignorant but I've been playing Tau for years but do not know what all those gun configuration nicknames actually represent. Can someone quickly define them for me? Fireknife (I think this is what I frequently use, as it is the most logically effective)? Firestorm? Sunforge? Deathrain? Helios? et cetera. Thanks in advance.

Fireknife - plasma rifle and missile pod
Deathrain - twin linked missile pod
Helios and Sunforge are plasma/melta type thingies, either combinations or twin linked.

advanced tau tactica has a nice "abbreviation guide" that lists them all. some of them are less "common", and so most folks not on that board will not recognize the more esoteric names.
