K so you made a Army that kill's Hordes an Neg's. Cover saves.

Your vets should have 3 Meltas not 2

K so If you fight a SAFH your in Trouble.

You have to get withing range and live though the Lascannon's (Or Equiv.) Then your infantry though the Heavy bolters.

For clarifications sake: Troop choices mounted IN vehicles can still capture objectives while mounted, you measure the distance off the hull of the vehicle.

Lists like this are going to be part of the rock-paper-scissors of 5th.

By the way there are *7* scoring units and *11* contesting units in this list.

I'd say switch the armements on the chimeras to Heavy Flamer, Hull mounted Heavy Bolter. Just so, while you're going places, your army will be at least doing something other than getting shot.

This list would be absolutely hilarious to use against 180 shoota boyz lists.

I'm not sure how SAFH IG would give this list trouble. Unless they're mounted in vehicles with real guns. Then yeah, that would be bad.

The point is to move 12 as long as needed to get into firing range.

Nobody should be getting out until shot out.

I have never lost to mech guard. I have butchered them all horribly every time.

I think he's saying that he has 10 lascannons and 12 deepstriking meltaguns in his list, which means his guard are optimised to kill vehicles.

so I think he's saying that his list will kill this list, which is not suprising, as dedicated anti tank list will tend to do well against a light tank swarm list.

However I don't know if he will manage to kill them all, with a 4+ save from the smoke launchers in the first turn.

10 lascannons, 5 will hit, maybe 3 punch, 1 save, means two chimera down in the first turn.

second turn all the lascannons are dead due to the heavy flamers.

each of the deepstriking meltas will have one turn to kill a tank, before they are too flamered to death, which is 6 dead tanks.

that's 8 dead tanks, what do you do to the other 6?

if you choose very well, you can make sure it's a draw, but even 10 lascannons and 12 deepstriking melta's don't seem like they will win vs this list.

Hmmm I sense a 5E newbie (not you sushi).

I guess I should put up my 2 bits on 5E shooty armies...probably an article will be best.

Stelek. This list is mean list but would this be your ideal imperial guard mech list if your had not been asked to exclude Leman Russes?

For a medium mech force, I think it's fine.

If I wanted a heavy mech force, I'd run russes + land raiders...but it wouldn't be a pure guards force.

Which was the other stipulation, only guards.
