Chicago

I'm going to the Chicago Games Day RTT, and trying to decide which army I should bring. Part (most) of the indecision is because this is probably the last 4th ed tournament I'll attend, so it's pretty much my last chance to use 4th ed rules.

Goals:
Be competative, both in appearance and gameplay. Doesn't need to be OTT to win though.

Parameters: 1750 points

Choices:

Emperor's Children (CSM)
2 Lash Princesses
20 Noise marines w/ sonics, in rhinos
5 noise marines w/ blastmaster
5 terminators (4 lightning claws, heavy flamer/chainfist, MoS) in landraider
3 obliterators (separate)

Pros:
Lash + Plasma Cannons works pretty well. 20 Sonic Blasters has good game against hordes. I5 Lightning Claw termies put a hurting on a lot of things.
Cons:
Not enough anti-godzilla game, probably too little against mech eldar too
Dual lash probably means low sports scores
Army doesn't really change much under 5th ed, so plenty more opportunities to play it.

Slaanesh Daemons
Keeper of Secrets w/ Pavane
Herald of Slaanesh in Chariot w/ Icon, Strength
Masque
6 Fiends
12 Seekers
Soul Grinder w/ Tongue
48 Daemonettes
Some other stuff to make 1750 - probably some icons... Maybe 3 flamers I happened to paint, though that kills the theme...

Pros:
New Army, haven't played it against much yet, should be fun to play.
Assuming Daemons were costed for 5th ed, all those models using 4th ed rending are undercosted.
Army looks good, and there probably won't be many other daemon armies there.

Cons:
No running in 4th - most of my gals have fleet, but not being able to spread out on the turn they arrive might be bad.
It's more of a fun army, I feel like I'm reaching for points - probably better at 1500 than 1750
Will lose to any skimmer army

Orks

Lots of boyz, maybe with some lootas or stormboyz, but probably not...

Pros:
Lots of boyz look good.
I know how to play it.

Cons:
Army only gets better in 5th ed, so plenty more opportunities
Don't know what time limits will be for each round.

Mech Eldar
Pros:
Know how to play it well.
Last chance to run waveserpents as gunships, harlequins as gods.

Cons:
Probably other people running it too.
Very few conversion in the army might hurt paint score. (Could use some wraithlords to address this)
Falls over to destroyer necrons.

I'm currently leaning to either the eldar or daemons, mostly because they change the most in 5th ed. Any thoughts?

Your odds of winning the tourney are good since only half of the slots have been sold.

.Only a fool believes there is such a thing as price gouging. Things have value determined by the creator or merchant. If you don't agree with that value, you are free not to purchase.
