I was just flipping through my 5th ed rulebook looking at all of the fancy pictures when I happened to spot this little image:



Are these... the new plastic Nobz?

I don't recognize most of these parts, and since photos of the stuff in the Assault on Black Reach box are already in the rulebook, it stands to reason that some other unreleased pieces may also be pictured.

Am I onto something, or are these just clever conversions?

They're on page 233, though I have the collector's edition; I don't know if that changes the page numbering any. Listed under 'Citadel Terrain'.

Edit: I'm being told these are the nobz from the black reach starter set, I just didn't recognize them off the bat. My bad. :( And here I was getting all excited.

They're the Black Reach Nobz. The actual plastic Nob kit is still a ways off, and is far more detailed. There's a pic of a 3UP in the current WD.

Frankly I see nothing to distinguish them from ordinary boyz. Put them next to a unit of sluggas and it will get confusing. GW could at least have given them all pointy sticks or something distinctive.

Edit: Are you sure they are nobz and not Black Reach boyz. The pictures from BoLS showed at least one nob had a big choppa.

They're Nobz. They've all got the fancy drum-fed Sluggaz.

Does anyone in the blackreach set, other than the warboss, have a powerklaw? You'd think that would make a good thing to put in a box of orks.

My subsrcription copy seems to be arriving later and later as the months go by...

Hopefully what should distinguish them from normal boyz is their size, although i do agree they seem to lack a little bling

Aye, the don't look that big, probably put them on to Termie bases to give them an extra illusion of size, plus gonna have to convert some Big shootas and the like, no way am I having five Nobz with Slugga, Choppa combo.

I've mounted all my nobs and the like on 40mm bases, somewhat to the annoyance of others. It helps setting them apart.

Perhaps they're not as big as the metal Nobz but that just means they'll be excellent Flash Gitz

I think I'm gonna end up attaching the plastic shoulder plates to mine to give them a little extra bulk.
