There's a hole in the world it's a big black pit and it's filled with people who are filled with shi

I'm looking at getting some leman russ and chimera variants to mix up my gaming a bit, but I only want to change the turret. I have 1 leman russ and 1 chimera.
So my question is:
In a forgeworld conversion kit for a tank (specificaly the executioner, exterminator, and vanquisher), is it only the gun part to switch out as you are making the model, or do they give you a full turret? Some like the chimera turrets say that it is an autocannon turret for example, but then the ones i listed just say conversion kit.
If you've bought any turrets from forgeworld before, please tell me what it all includes.

Thanks, Ian

For both the Russ and Chimera FW items, they're full turrets. You do not need to use parts from the plastic kit to complete them - they even all come with hatch-lids.

The only thing I will say is that buying full kits is cheaper than conversion kits. The full kits are usually only a little more than the conversion kit, and you get the whole tank.

I did that for all the Vanquishers, Executioners and Annihilators I have. The Chimera turrets I just bought as is.

The turrets I bought for my IG were solid resin and came with the turret hatch separate, so all I had to do was stick them on the tank.

I've bought the Tau vehicle addons (flechette launcher, decoy dispenser, etc) and have found that they've spruced up the vehicles nicely. These were probably cheaper than a whole turret would be. The Tau tank commander was nicely done, too.

I'm a scratchbuilder / converter.

I don't really like the GW FW stuff so much, because a lot of it just doesn't make sense to me from an engineering / practicals standpoint. (I know, I know...)

My Imperial Armor is all converted stuff, so it matches in style and aesthetics. Some stuff is heavily redone (Hellhound, Basilisk), others (Chimeras) only minor changes.
