Huh. Interesting. They are significantly bigger than I expected. +2 for that. -1 for still looking like a Rock 'Em, Sock 'Em Robot.

Still throughly disappointed with the Cogs. Concepts were so much better. Not that I play AT-43 but I'm still counting on those resin kits...

Larger is better.

But still not nearly as cool as the concepts.

I'm surprised, too. i thought they'd be human-infantry-sized. I still don't like them, though. Will have to see what kind of vehicles they can get. Maybe something will leap out of the page to dazzle me.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

In a good way or in a bad way, Alpharius?

Sorry!

I mean in a bad way.

So far, nothing seems to "fit" in with the AT-43 universe.

I suppose that might be the point, but so far, not so good for me.

Plus, the poses are quite silly, and the weapons are too.

Odd choices.

Fire Industries closed it's doors, so no more resin kits for now.

More on topic, I really think it's the posing that is really throwing a lot of people off the wagon with these guys. It's very awkward and unnatural.

Unfortunately converting and reposing would involve a good deal of cutting and GS'ing then repainting. A lot of work to do for every model in the army.

Let's see if they can fix the posing issue before the final releases.

I actually don't have a problem with the posing on the COG gunslinger - I think that's actually a pretty cool pose that I'd like to see more of in the 40k verse. But it's the ML equipped COG that I have posing problems with.

Yoor Speeshawl too Gawd!

I don't have a problem with the "John Woo" poses. They should be plastic so it will be easy enough to change. I am surprised at the size of these I was expecting a horde or worm guys from Men in Black instead we are getting Ghost In the Shell Arm-Suits.

Only now do I realize how much I prefer Pete Haines' "misprints" to Gav Thorpe's "brainfarts." :Abadabadoobaddon

Rackham said they will make resin or metal versions of PPP from At-43 and CAoR available through the Legends line. Though they also said they're the pinnacle of quality products, so my belief in any of their statements is rather limited ...

Im witholding judgement until I see them painted.

The size does help for me, and if the painting is done right it might help with the lifeless posing.

I do like the gunslinger ,, for obvious reasons.

I don't think painted will matter much for me. Big helps, but I'm not
that interested in it right now. Maybe when they show the show-off models
(ie, not the production paints) I might be intrigued enough to consider
overpainting a set. I just feel like an idiot paying for prepainted stuff
that I paint over (which is why my Karmans slowed down)

Prices for resin are not much different form the ones Forgeworld charges and if you consider how small the runs for the bigger models are they are quite reasonable to a certain degree.

Do you even play AT-43? Even if you did, how can you say that something doesn't fit into the universe when Rackham probably doesn't really even know. The background isn't fully developed yet, so there is quite a bit of room for what "fits" into the universe.

The poses and weapons are silly?

Ok, I can jive with that, but it is funny hearing that from a person who plays an army where every model has bat wings on their heads...

Rockem sockem robots can be just as easily designated to those Tau Battlesuits everyone seems to use so often, yet I hear no derision directed at them.
Hell, when they were released everyone was slavering over them, yet these come out and now its bad?

Compared to what? Certainly not compared to tau battlesuits.

Put a tau battle suit next to that Cog on the far left there.

It is a subjective matter, but I am siding with the cogs having a better design on that particular instance.

pssst... The Night Lords are the ones with the bat wings. He plays Alpha Legion.

Hey Elusive, thanks for that! (I didn't notice it myself the first time around!)

For the Emperor indeed!

I put "fits" in quotes for a reason, the reason being that the Cog designs to date don't seem to gel with everything else released. (If it needs to be said: In My Opinion.)

Also, I'm not a fan at all of Necrons or Tau and would happily see them retconned right out of the fluff, so not sure where you were going with that one either...

It isn't just you...

But at least this group had the good graces to leave their helmets on to cover up their Extreme Fugliness.

if those are beings in armour then they are one skinny bunch of people. They would make and ethereal look like a pro-wrestler. They look more android-ish to me.

At least they don't have the coneheads that the skinnies did. Or am I thinking of a different line of emaciated alien enemies?
