I didn't see this posted, so sorry if it's a double post

wow, that's a way to fight the rising (500%) Tin prices, 60% lead!

So, which do you prefer, a slight increase in prices, or Lead miniatures?

I'll be eating the price increase. I don't trust myself not to suck on my minis in times of stress.

The only problem I have with lead is durability. Little thin bits just won't work as well. I don't really have a good answer to it either.
The whole "poison" thing is fixed by painting them, giving them a good coat of gloss and a good coat of dull cote. Not really a problem.

I've also heard the poison thing can be avoided by washing your hands and not eating your miniatures.

It's an interesting choice, but I agree with Wehrkind, a mix with that much lead seems like it would be awfully soft.

That said, I'm not a doctor or anything. I don't know "science."

Wow, Reaper is even ballsier than PP - they plan to charge more for models using a cheaper, and more hazardous, raw materials mix.

I will not be buying any of these minis. Not because I still chew on them, but because I abhor gravity death and bendiness in general.

Um, actually the prices are significantly lower for the proposed 60/40 metal. Take the first figure on the list, the regular version is 4.49 and the proposed version ins 2.99. That's a pretty big price drop, and actually brings the price back in line with what I have allways considered a fair price for a single infantry model.

As far as the bendiness/softness goes, I have a lot of old models from Grenadier, Ral Partha and the like from back in the days before lead-free pewter, and they hold up fine if taken care of.

I think this actually is a pretty interesting move, and one that I would have to see the minis in person before I could judge.
