I'm relatively new to the GW system of updating its story line they've created. I'm just curious if GW is going to update the situation on all of the loyal Primarch's. Traitor Primarchs are all Daemon Princes, Loyal Primarchs are all MIA or in the eye? I'm a fan of the Primarch fluff so this is bothering me!

As far as i know the Traitor Primarchs arn't deamon princes (well they are one up from deamon princes) and most of them are dead anyways. However I really don't know about the loyal Primarchs.

I believe Magnus, Mortarion, Peturabo, Lorgar are alive. Angron banished, Fulgrim in a sword. Night Haunter dead and Alpharius maybe dead.

Loyalist primarchs alive, or at least rumored so:

Guilliman (stasis, poisoned), Russ (lost in the warp, probably a wulfen were-primarch), Vulkan, Corax, Lion (hibernating)

Traitor primarchs alive:

Peturabo (daemon prince), Angron (daemon prince), Fulgrim (daemon prince, true essence trapped in a sword), Lorgar (daemon prince), Magus (daemonically infused, may as well call him a daemon prince), Mortarion (daemon prince), Alpharius (rumored dead, probably his twin brother Omegon slain, or Omegon is posing as Alpharius).

Dead primarchs: Alpharius (or Omegon), Sanguinius, Rogal Dorn (may be retconned to "merely lost), Ferrus Manus

Yeah most of those traitor primarchs are living large in the eye of terror. I know Russ and Corax went into the eye of terror never to be heard from again and Khan is chasing Dark Eldar so those three could always "return when most neaded."

I know Ferrus Manus died on Istvaan V.
Sanguinus died fighting Horus.
Dorn died fighting on a chaos cruiser.

No one really dies.

Everyone can have a clone.

It'd be neat if a primarch came into the game but...you'd have to put them into apocalypse and give them structure points so Strength D weapons wouldn't make your 1000 point character look stupid.

Of course they'd never work in a regular game of 40k.

Personally I want to see 'em but don't think I ever will.

Movie marines are about as close to them as you get in 40K land.

Angron has rules now. And I think some of the other Traitor primarchs had rules in Epic 40,000.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

The Angron stats are a joke. I was insulted by them. He is weaker than the bloodthirsters in his bodyguard.

Here are the rules for Angron from WD:344

Points:500+points for the Bloodthirster bodyguards

Formation:Angron and a bodygaurd of between 2 and 12 Bloodthirsterschosen from Codex: Chaos Deamons.

Angron:Angron is treated as a Deamon Prince with the following profile and special rules.

WS BS S T W I A LD SV
10 6 7 6 5 6 6 10 4+

Unit Type: Monsterous Creature

Special Rules:
Deamon, Furious Charge

Deamonic Gifts:
Iron Hide, Deamonic Flight

Angron's Black Blade:
Angron is armed with a chaos blade. It counts as a mastercrafted close combat weapon that causes instant death.

Roar of Hate:
Any enemy unit within 12" of Angron must reduce their leadership by 1 point.

My opinion: Pretty good but not as good as a Primarch should be.

Actually, Angron isn't a Demon Prince.

He's a wuss.

Want to see a real Demon Prince?

Look up the old named greater demons from the first Chaos Codex in 2nd edition.

Those guys...man.

Missing 3 Primarchs,
Loyalists: The Khan - Lost in the webway. And Vulkan went missing on Istvaan so is probably dead. Corax fethed off to the Eye of terror

Traitor: Horus - How did you forget to even mention the guy. Utterly toast. The Night Haunter/Cruze - Killed by Assassins.

Vulkan was at the discussion over dividing the legions into chapters present,so his whereabouts are unknown. To do so,he
must had survived Istvaan.

Horus got what he feared: to be forgotten

Its quite funny how everyone expects Primarchs and their Daemon Prine equivalent to be something special, based solely on their fluff......when Marines, Assasins, and most other "superior" beings in the WH40K fluff have nothing like an equivalent in gaming terms.

Hell, even the fluff doesn't always agree on whats what. Basically, my advice would be not to worry about it. At some point GW will do one of the following things. 1) realise theres some money to be made from incorperating the Primarchs back into tthe game, and 2) probably based on the previous point, decide to rewrite the fluff to get them back into the game.

Man down, Man down....

In the new Chaos codex, doesn't it say only 5 loyalist marines survived the Istvaan massacre to bring what they could of their fallen brothers gene seed back to the emperor?

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

I have no problem with Angron being weaker than a Bloodthirster, no problem at all.

Its a bit like complaining that the boss is not more muscular than his muscular henchmen. Angron now has powers roughly equal to a greater daemon face to face, that is enough. The also has the mental levity of a daemon prince, and then some. which is why he is in charge and not the thirsters.

What the Angron stats were missing were uber command abilities and bonuses for any World Eaters taken with him.

I would have gone for a minimum of Furious charge and Fearless for all World eaters.
He should have rerolls for all reserves due to his genius, plus d6 re-deploys as per Eldrad.
Plus the option to buy orbital; fire support modules as per =I=.
Then he would be a primarch.

While probably quite intelligent initially, I'd imagine Angron was also susceptible (especially after all the psycho-surgery!) to mind-numbing bouts of rage, clouding his tactical acumen and leading him to rush in first, swing the chain-axe, and analyze later, if at all...
