Hey fellow kabalites. Little off the prevailing topic but I figured this was the best place to ask: What would you say is the most efficient way of getting a Lord of War in our army? Is it adding despicable craftworlders to get a Wraithknight? Is it shooting for the Forgeworld titans? Heck, with Imperial Armor 11 (doom of meow meowmeow) getting redone, can we even still access those titans?

I'm trying to put myself in a place to succeed against friends that enjoy rolling out a Baneblade or knight or two.

Like a true Tomb King, change (to AoS) has left me bitter and vengeful.

Last question I promise. Can Hellions be made to work? The general consensus I've seen is that most people don't like them, but are they usable at all? Or are they just useless?

The only HALFWAY decent use I found for them was to stuff a Fortress of Redemption full of 'em. The can exit the battlements and still get to the ground AND Charge, thanks to Repel the Invader! and being Jump Infantry. If you buy Void Shields for the building, you can start all your other stuff on the battlements, giving you a protected firing platform or a staging area for a Flat Out/Turboboost assisted drive into the enemy.

Not great, but at least interesting.

I don't think even that works, as when disembarking you still have to end your move within 6" of your access point, despite being jump infantry. BRB p81.

The entire Battlements are an Access Point. It's totally manageable. Even if you have to charge off the battlements, you'll still have a decent footprint.

Well, we can take Phantom Titans still, I think. Other than that, Wraithknights are your best bet.

Welcome to the Kabal Brother! As has been said already a phantom titan or wraith knight are your best options.

Well it's good to hear we still have access to a titan if needed... but I guess the logical follow up question would be is a titan worth it? Can we put those points elsewhere, or does anyone have experience with running a LOW in one way or another with us?

Just wanted to bring some attention back to this thread because I have a few questions. I intend on having a DE allied detachment to my growing Eldar army (DE will eventually become their own army but that's another tale). Could I make a passable ally using the Perfection of Agony set? (1 succubus, 10 wyches, 6 reavers, venom, raider). I'm aware that Wyches aren't that great atm, but I' was going for a Wych Cult theme to go alongside my Craftworld Iybraesil theme for my Eldar. Thoughts?

Wyches are one of the RARE units I will tell you isn't going to give you performance in the way you'd hope they would.

Thematically, I say go for it. But using them is like Expert hard mode: useful for a very specific tassk, and not the one you wish they were.

You can win with them but in those games, keeping therm alive longer becomes the priority and not actually using them. Which is basically foreign to the way most generals are able to cope with life. So I suggest them only to the experts. Just my opinion.

Hey, thank you for the advice Jancoran. I asked primarily because I'm (probably) receiving the Wych Cult Shardstorm as a Christmas gift from my family so I had wanted to know if they were usable. By the advice I've seen from the others I'm probably better off using Kabalites (at least until I can learn the ins and outs of the army).

Wyches do make simple (and gorgeous) harlequin conversions.

I've seen some of those before. Unfortunately I'm really not interested in running the clowns (at least at the moment, I need to finish up my Eldar and actually start Dark Eldar before I consider anything else). Trying to paint those diamonds would drive me mad.

Should check out the color schemes for the various troupes in the supplement. Many don't use the diamond patterns, if that's not your thing.

You could also convert them to (or just run them as) Lhamaeans.

I'll keep that in mind thanks. After I finish up my Eldar and my Dark Eldar I might look into it. Have the Space Elf trifecta

Thats why I went with the Reapers Mirth colour scheme for my Harley's; simple red, white and black with no motley to mess about with. Their fluff also makes them a good fit to ally with DE as well (they like killing stuff and have a lot of Death Jesters).

Maybe. I already have so many future project ideas, I'll add harlies to the list. I want to finish up my Eldar and actually get a start on my DEldar before I look into another force.

Just ebay splinter rifles/arms from the kabalite set and make them dynamic warriors. Seriously they will look amazing and only very slightly less armored since the arms will be armored.
