Yeah the reference to taz-guns put a smile on my face. So true...maybe refer to the Hardened Veterans as "Hardboiled Pensioners"?

Aw, give'em a break. No one really even knows what an effective list looks like for IG now that the KP nerf has landed. I'm sure there are three or four new posters who have never played a game according to a strict interpretation of the rules who think they are pretty 1337 because they can kick their kid brother's butt, but this is a) low points and b) clearly intended for purely casual play...and frankly, right now it looks like the Imperial Goose is cooked, so this is probably as effective as ANY list now.

edit - just had to get this off my chest - I think this is clever and fluffy, and frankly I'm disapointed in MajorTreble for not reserving his scorn for posts frothing with a dense fog of blinkered, stuck-up idiocy. That's just me. Putdowns like that, IMHO, should be reserved for the truly stupid and presumptuous posts from people who would have been shot if euthanasia was still around. Using them on a player who makes no assumptions about the quality or competitiveness of his own list is like shooting a civilian for reaching for his wallet while next door some Al Qaeda boys are repairing their Katyushas. But that's just me. If you really like ripping into people for no reason, be my guest.

I agree, MajorTreble should lighten up a bit. I laughed my arse off readin this. It is a fun list that if for no other reason that a few good laughs, would be a nice change of pace for a casual gaming group.

Hell, our friendly gaming group has a guy that plays orcs with no coherent battle plan or any dicernable strategy. he just fields whatever models he has painted and that will fit the points limit. It makes fighting him always an interesting event and one everyone usually watches with alot of laughter on both sides.

Remember that even though some folks are all uber tournament players, there are plenty of us regular folks that just play to have some fun with a group of friends.

But thats just my 2 pfennigs worth.

At such a low points level, wasting points on things like Vox Casters and HSO's a big no-no. Plus I can't even work out what this army is armed with as far as weapons go. 'Not much' would be my first guess. And you can't have two Master Voxes. And this doesn't fit into 850 points either. And if you take Mechanised, everyone has to have it - even the H-Vets.

Without the Commissar this list sits at 1109 points, and the only useful things are the Chimeras. Who are you expecting to beat with squads that have nothing but Lasguns and harsh language to use?

Don't get me wrong - it's a cool idea - but even cool ideas can have good lists attached to them.

I used the Vehicle Design Rules to create a Police Car and Van for 21 points each to fulfill the mechanized requirements.

A police force isn't going to have any sort of heavy military equipment. This is why genestealer/chaos cults are so successful.
