Hi all,

I just wrote an article on my website called How I got into Warmachine for 35 dollars that I wanted to share with the Warmachine community.

It's about a project idea I had where I could take pictures of Warmachine figures and then basically print out 2D versions of them for use in games. The goal is to lower the barrier of entry into Warmachine for the casual gamer as well as making it easier for the tournament gamer to try out new armies before purchasing the real models.

I honestly don't know whether to expect a negative or positive response from the community and from Privateer Press themselves. Obviously I hope for the latter.

Let me know what you think!

Dakka Dakka has an article system you could post it to, as well.

Heh. I like it.

I've noticed more interest lately for paper models and terrain. Response to the economy, perhaps? Or do people's employers leave the office printers completely unguarded?

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

That's how I started out. I bought empty bases and a faction deck, printed the minis.

Nice work.

It sounds like a good way to try things out first (extensively) before you invest in something expensive like a miniature collection.
