Kugath
Epidemius
3 x DP with Flight, Iron Hide, Mark of Nurgle, Cloud of Flies, Daemonic Gaze
17 x Plaguebearers
16 x Plaguebearers
7 x Beasts of Nurgle
7 x Beasts of Nurgle
7 x Beasts of Nurgle
8 x Screamers

I realize its a risky/gimmicky list, but I think it can still work against a lot of armies. I've played a handful of games, and it absolutely crushes horde armies--even when my deployment/scattering doesn't go well. What I'm really worried about are fast/mech armies, anyone with all-around AV14 vehicles, and AV walkers with weapon skills, hence the screamers. Although, I could just ignore vehicles since they can't touch me when I'm in hand-to-hand (since thats where I want to be anyway), but that could be impossible if they're fully mechanized.

All thoughts and suggestions welcome!

Food for thought. Kugath is great with his template to get nurgle kills up, but for th same point you could run 3 heralds with puke on palanquins. While probably not as resilient, more likely to cause mass casualties early.

Also at 2500 point 33 PBs will disappear very fast. I honestly thin you should be running 60+ PBs. Drop them right onto the objectives. PB are the early kilers with epidemius, so after the first deepstrike wave you then hit with PBs then you finish with best of nurgle and nurglings.

BTW- where are the nurglings they are dirt cheap tie up a lot of issue and hit like a mac truck for cheap when the list gets going!!!!

For the 'Ard Boyz, I'd not consider using Chaos Daemons unless you max out all of your troop selections first. 4 largish plaguebearer squads and 2 large nurgling squads, or something like that.

are 4 MCs worth it at this many points? It seems to me that they will draw too much fire and die.

Kugath is going to give up lots of Kill points.

His special power specifically says that he can create a new unit of Nurglings. If it's a unit it's worth a kill point. Therefore, in KP games you're paying points for an ability that you're never going to use. Personally I'd go with a Great Unclean One and more plaguebearers.

Ok, so you don't use his Nurgling generation ability in KP missions, which will happen 1/3 of the time. In objective missions, which happen 2/3 of the time, the ability can be really useful to contest objectives on the last turn (you did go second right?). Secondly, no one takes Kugath for the ability to crap nurglings, they take him for his Necrotic Missiles, which are one of the few ranged attacks in a Nurgle Daemons army, and it's pretty devastating to most units.

@ Brian P:
Ku'Gath gets the Plague missiles, which are a good shooting weapon, as Nurgle has trouble getting into combat quickly.

@ Centurian99:
Nurglings are a losing proposition in my book. They die too easily, and give up wounds in combat. Your Fearless Plaguebearers are going to take extra wounds when the Nurglings lose the combat for them. Not good.

@ OP:
That's a lot of beasts, and not a lot of PBs. You want more Plaguebearers, so you can widen your reach across the board to prevent your opponent from avoiding your pestilent squads. You only have 2 rather large squads, which will be incredibly easy to avoid, especially considering the S&P of your entire army.

You don't really need that many beasts, IMO. They just give you some amount of attacks, but have little over PBs, and they can't capture objectives. Ku'Gath and your DP are going to be your big kill-rackers early on, and the rest will spiral. A few beasts are ok here and there, but ideally will be included after you have plenty of PBs (I prefer somewhere around 50, not 33, especially in 2500).

Catch me if you can.

re:nurglings - they are the toughest swarm unit to kill. take more than 5 and you will tie up a MC for a few turns or contest and objective in cover. If they die easily where you play then they need to learn to use them better.

For the DPs I say drop flight and give them all breath.
