Yeah,
totally awesome report!
you guys have really sweet armies.
and the terrain you played across is awesome, totally awesome.

Umm I can't find any details of who (player wise) took part in the battle, I take it your dakkites?

I appreciate the ammount of time it took to record and post, thank you. Now I'm off to read it again...

Ok you guys, making a command room with a display and keyboards...I mean really, who does that?! lol very impressive.

The Custodes really are nicely done (paint jobs are very good all around...I'm assuming the Eldar one is WIP).

Armorcast and other companies have engineering station
models. I don't know who else does, really. Of course, it
could be custom as well.

It's home made. Plasticard, procreate, transparency printouts. I've found some great looking computer console/station terrain online...but it's all silly expensive imho.

You guys really set the bar for battle reports and I know I'm in for a treat whenever I see you name attached to one.
The models, terrain, and camera angles all make the battles look like battles!

Thanks so much for these and any chance you could post the other pics on flickr or some other site? I want more

The work done to the photos after words helps with the immersion, as well. Seriously, a fantastic job!

Yeah! 40k in all its glory! This is the kind of thing that will motivate me to paint/play and even attract new recruits. A wise move putting it on the front of the site.

Gorgeous armies and the terrain makes white dwarf jealous. I'm totally impressed.

Simply stunning! This is what the hobby is about. I'd wish more people would see reports like these,
instead of loads of unpainted minis facing each other on a ramshackle table.

Great work, great report!

I made some view screens once. What I did was to cut out a square of plastic and then I painted star patterns on the back side. When I was done, I spray painted the backside, which gave it a nice black background for the stars, while leaving the face nice and shiny like glass.

This calls for a tutorial!

Fantastic battle report, models look great, well reported and photographed. 10/10, I wish that all battle reports were like this - kudos to everyone involved, not just for the battle report, but for getting off their asses and making interesting and FULLY PAINTED armies.

Too bad our Apoc game in KC wasn't that cool when you came down. You guys in St. Joe really know how to paint. Too bad our area doesn't follow your example.

And as you said, the pictures don't do your guys models justice. They are very well painted and modelled.

Kudos on the batrep,

Misery. Missouri. Who can tell the difference.

All of us that play in the St. Joe gaming group that were part of this game believe that having fun is more important than winning since that is what
this hobby is all about. We take pride is have nice terrain and painted minitures on the board, not to say that we have had our share of bare plastic
on the battlefield. None of us are rule nazis and are happy to roll off a d6 to see what happens because the game is for fun. Alot of our games are
like the battle report but on a smaller scale (we like 1850 a side).

WOW. THAT is inspiring. It was like watching a video game. Reminded me of MechCommander on the PC.

Looking at that terrain you don't really deploy randomly, you place your units where they make the most sense. jealousssssss.

Thanks for the compliments!

What a game! That was my first Apocalypse game and I thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the things I now know is you have to have a different mindset when playing Apoc, as in you have to think "bigger." Instead of removing models from a squad, you get to remove entire squads which happened to me on several occasions. You just have to adjust and roll with it; the dice, more often than not, will swing your way eventually.

Good to hear that this has inspired others. It has me, after that game it makes it hard to field my bare plastic Chaos army.

Thanks again.

Ash

Thanks for taking the time to share it with us.

Everything about the Batrep was great, but I am curious about the Custodes!
They weren't listed in the army list, and you said in the report that they popped in for 1 turn and then popped back out (or something to that effect).
Can you give any further info about them? Links to sites with info on them perhaps?
Again, great report and phenomenal work on the models and terrain!
