Stelek will tell you that you need to totally reconfigure your list and either make it all mech or all jumppack.
That is/will be a decent reccommendation, but first I will point out a few things you might have missed, just from the codex itself.
Company Captain: Thunderhammer, Jump Pack, (all the other goods). 150pts.
Chaplain: Powerfist. 125pts.
If you want characters with
PF, then yeah, these two are ok. Their special character bretheren are better though. Lemartes (spelt?) is probably a no brainer, but Dante at an extra 70odd points (you buy the banner upgrade) is a closer call. Personally, I would either get a second chaplin or get Dante over the commander you currently have.
Dreadnought: Multimelta, Extra Armor. 160pts.
Nothing dreadfuly wrong with this (pun intended).......... if you put it in a drop pod. As it stands, the multimelta on it is worthless. Also, I think the 3pts for smoke is worth it.
Assault Marines: x10, Powerfist, Combat Shield. 285pts.
Assault Marines: x10, Powerfist, Combat Shield. 285pts.
I'm pretty sure that you will find that combat sheilds are worthless. The
Inv. save just isn't worth it, even with torrent of fire. Someone may give you a different opinion though.......
Tactical Squad: x10, Powerfist, Meltagun, Lascannon. 245pts.
Here is the all mech or all jump problem. I don't have an issue with a few
tac squads mixed with assault squads, but they have to have rhinos. This gives you a 50pt moving piece of cover for those assault troops. If you buy them a rhino, I dunno if you combat squad and leave the heavy weapon behind, drop the heavy weapon, or just tag the heavy weapon along as a 'just in case' sort of thing.
Predator: Twin Las, Las Sponsons, Extra Armor. 180pts.
Predator: Twin Las, Las Sponsons, Extra Armor. 180pts.
Baal Predator: Twin Assault Cannon, Hvy Bolter Sponsons, Extra Armor. 140pts.
Solid, although kitted out preds are often seen as expensive for what they do.
With the three heavy support tanks it looks like a primarily mech heavy army would be better.
I don't have time to fully figure out points costs and such, but I would.....
1) Drop the Dread
2) Drop the Captain
3) Drop the Chaplin
4) Get Lemartes.
5) Get a rhino for my
tac squad.
6) Get another
tac squad in rhino
This will put you over on points. Around 50ish.
Dunno exactly what you do about that.
On a side note, a cheap tankhunting squad of Vet. Ass. Marines would improve your
DC numbers. You should probably try and fit a Vet. Ass. Squad of some description in there. They are the most customisable squad around, and very cool with 4 attacks on the charge each (multipule mobile power weapon squads win games).
As it stands though, if you keep the main battle tanks, you should probably forgo such units.
This isn't what I would run, but I have tried to offer some insights without totally reworking your list.
Lets see what others have to say, their are a few members who run mech
BA who could give greater feedback.
(Also, you might wanna wait til the new C:
SM is released...)
