ok, your nobs need a waaagh banner (gives them ws 5 so they need 3's to hit instead of 4's most of the time). If you can try to throw at least one PF into the nobs squad and for 50 points all your nobs can have a 5+ inv (youll need it). also since you have big choppas a couple of 5 point shoota/skorchas really help when you are going to assault huge squads or tough ones. the warboss on a bike is a good build (T6) a suggestion though, if you insist on a TL shoota take the shoota skorcha you will always be firing the dakka gun on the bike so the shoota part is worthless a one shot skorcha is always nice. Consider replacing the shoota with the slugga, heres why if you assault an force, you can use the slugga in CC the turn you assault so you dont kill everyone.With the new consolidation rules you want to wipe out squads in the enemies turn so you dont get left standing in the middle of the table.

consider a big mek with a kustom force field, its absolutely necessary for a mechanised force, every vehicle within 6" gets a 4+ cover save, so 2 battle wagons loaded with boys/nobs will have a 4+ and just about garunteed to get wherever you want them to go.(I just bunch em up, I can get 2 battle wagons, 2 trukks, a looted wagon, a deff dread and a warboss on a bike within 6")

being as your battle wagons are transports and you want them moving, I would ditch the kannon and rely on the deff rollas to do damage. for 5 points you can get grot riggers which will get you moving if you get imobolisied. Consider 4 big shootas instead of 2, if you do have to stop and shoot (imob.) you get 16 shots, but your going to be using the deff rolaas after you disembark so just move 12" and squash stuff, I rarely ever shoot with my battle wagons, the guns are there for weapon destroyed results mostly.

Boss poles are useless especially with a mounted force, heres why with 20 boys by the time they make you take LD tests you will be down to less than 10 models and have huge negatives (from close combat) if your boys were walking its ok to help you pass LD tests from 25% casualties but again theyd have to kill 10 in a turn to make you test and if they are pouring that much fire into a mob they are determinded to kill it.

the trukk needs armor plates, you want to be mobile, if you get stunned your a sitting duck. the red paint job is fun but not really worth anything (ive never had a case where I needed an extra inch) consider a trukk with armor plates and a rein ram for 50 points, just have fun plowing through terrain ( I love plowing through all terrain except enclosed buildings but you very rarely see those) and remember the veh. can shoot at different targets than the passengers.

all in all its a good start with play testing youll see what works, what you never use and what you need. With this build you have to remember one thing, NEVER STOP! ALWAYS ATTACk! you cannot afford to spend a turn standing still/going backwards. For objectives place as many as you can in you opponents deployment, this way you wont have to worry about holding one in your back field. So you will always be moving forward into your opponent.

You have a lot of points in your nobs, which means you really want them to enter and WIN CC. BUT NOBS are NO GOOD at CC because they are too slow. The whole mob costs more than Abaddon and twice as much as Jain Zar, but either of those IC's or even a single well tooled Broodlord or Hive Tyrant (Implant attack, acid maw...) will rape your whole squad of nobs in CC.

You get nobs in mobs that are cheaper and can still carry your PKs for you.

If you didn't run nobs what would you replace them with?




nobs are no good in CC?! what are you smoking? One IC taking out 10 nobs thats the best joke Ive heard in a long time. What kind of nob squads are you fighting against? Ones that have no armor, no invuls, no feel no pain and no PK's/big choppas? If your ever in so. cal look me up, bring jain zar, abbadon a brood lord and a hive tyrnat and throw them against 8 nobs, I garuntee they will get spanked hard, you may even kill a nob or 2.

3+ to hit 4-5 attacks on the charge 2+ to wound (big choppa) 2+ to wound no save (PK) feel no pain 4+/5+ armor save. yeah your right, they. suck 7 nobs can take out 40 marines every time. Abbadon and Jain zar get spanked by 20 boys and thats with anything they bring with them. I think you may be thinking of mega nobz they are slow, put them in a veh. and now they are fast with a 2+ armor save. A nob mob on the move is just about un stoppable. Typically when mine get killed off they have had 15 heavy bolters/6 las cannons/3 battle cannons and a few melta guns shot at them and even then its close. In CC forget it Ive fought everything and nothing has stood up to a nob mob, you have to shoot them to death. The only way to do that is to let them kill off what ever they charged, prey they do it in their turn and then fire your entire army at them. But then your not shooting at the other 120 boys coming at you. And before you say boys suck, 20 of them routinely orkhandle 10 termies.

He has the start of a very good army, he just needs to play test it alot and work out the kinks.

One thing to remember is tank shokk, with rams your trukks can tank shokk and force LD tests, its always fun when a 50 point trukk runs off a unit, keep them within 6 " and they keep running. Use it to tank shock units off of objectives too. As far as high LD units still try it, its much more sweeter when you run them off. A fun tactic is to put burnas in a veh. tank shokk a unit and when they pass they get hit by 10-20 burnas, always good for laugh. I love doing it to termies or marines. Make them take about 8 armor saves each on average. put a mech with a KFF in a veh with burnas and you make enemies for life.

nobs have mult. wounds the only adv. abbadon or nids have is the instant kill. as far as abbadon and 10 termies yes Ive seen it, yes ive fought it, 3 times in fact and every time abbadon and his cronies killed 4 nobs and were in turn slaughtered to the man.

the difference between a nob and a termie are vast, a termie 2+/5+ 1 wound 1 attack hitting on 4's wounding on 4's unless they have a PF so (assuming no charges) 10 termies get 10 attacks compare that to nobs hitting on 3's wounding on 2's (even with no PF) with a 4+/5+ and feel no pain along with 2 wounds and getting up to 50 attacks and they are 30 points with armor/inv. 10 boyz with big choppas get 30 attacks cost 350 points (380 with feel no pain 395 with banner) compared to what 400 points for the termies? same cost twice the wounds, 3 times the attacks, more will hit more will wound. Either way were jacking this guys thread.

Let us know how your list works out and what if any changes you want to make.

your right they get 20, but everytime Ive played against this or something like it, it just dosent hold up, especially if the orks get the charge then they get 10 more attacks and at least 5 skorcha shots on the termies, that is usually good for at least 3 kills and I didnt include abadon in the calcs, as I would have to throw in a warboss or gazzy to even it up. But like I said this is a debate for another thread as we are jacking this guys thread. Do you guys actually play against or with these builds? because every time I have they dont do squat, hell 30 boys can take out a carny first CC phase and only lose maybe 5-6 boys, same with 10 termies 20 boys handle them easy, Im not talking out of my ass Ive played against the stuff you guys keep mentioning numerous times it dosent hold up to orks. Granted your experiences could differ, but with me the only way my nobs have ever been wiped out is with overwhelming heavy weapon fire.
