Now that people have (or will soon have) AoBR I have a question about the plastic dread.

Is the new dread compatible with the existing GW plastic dread arms, the old metal GW dread arms and the FW Mk4 dread arms?

I'll soon have a metal GW dread w/ AC, metal GW furioso dread and 2 AoBR dreads. I'm going to need some new arms (as I probably wont use the furioso and dont need 2 MM dreads) and need to figure out what is the best way to get them (FW Mk4 arms have the best range of options).

Thanks

Looking at the sprue pictures, it looks compatible. The worst case scenario would probably be that you'd need to change the size of the pin coming out of the shoulder into the arm. I doubt you'll even have to do that.

I've tried the plastic dread arms on the BR dread and they work fine.
I don't have any spare metal or resin ones though so I can't tell if they work.

What is the difference between the plastic GW and Mk4 FW arms any way?

From the pictures they look very similar. Is one type larger than the other?

I can tell you that the plastic dread assault cannon fits perfectly on a metal dreadnought. So the pins are the same, so the metal weapons should fit just fine on the plastic dread. They are all interchangeable. I do not know if the Forge World weapons are compatible with the regular plastic dread, however.

A Furioso Dreadnought's arms fit perfectly on a plastic torso too.

I can't get the new multi-melta to fit on the plastic Dread, I can't get it to fit either the pin is to big or the hole is to small, not with out major surgery....
Oh wait, this is one of those set up Q's that makes for a cute quote line for someone.

I gave a lad at my flgs an Assault Cannon from the original plastic kit, and he put it on the Black Reach dread no problems. Any more questions?
