I can't seem to get the Iron Warriors boltgun paint scheme right, I've tried painting it white then painting over it with the sunburst yellow, then adding the black strips but it just looks messy, any advice would be very welcomed.

The boltgun is pretty straight forward. Dry brush over black.

Are you talking about the yellow/black caution pattern? I you want to paint that over black primer you're going to need several (thin!) coats. Try painting grey first.

There is another way to get this very good.

It takes a bit of time, but basically it involves painting each stripe on its own, alternating between white+yellow and black.

So start from one end. Paint the area black. Then paint in a white line where you want the yellow to start. It doesnt´have to be neat on the other side, but on the side facing the black, make sure it´s neat.

After this, paint it yellow, and line up the next black stripe. And so on and so on.

This method takes time, but it works! I´ve used it some years ago, to paint sergeants stripes on army men helmets (just to see if I could..)
