Seeems to be an Apoc like deal for Fantasy, also a VC one and Dwarves(in the advanced order part of the site). I did some quick math on the HE and it seems to total out around 450 seperately, so about a 20% discount(its listed at 370). They dont get released until 1st of Nov. Not sure but I might try to order one of these.

Yeh this is nice as the Spearheads proved to not be that effective it getting new product out I can see these being much more effective.

Oh dear Mr Bank Account, I'll try not to buy that dwarf box, but no promises...

Opinions are like arseholes. Everyone's got one and they all stink.

These look like the old skool army deals where you got an playable army from one box. One of each type of unit and some hq choices to boot.

This seems more usable though as the unit sizes for the troops seem to be quite close to usable.

Too bad the high elf one has silverhelms in it. This is what always kept me from buying these type of boxes in the past. There were always one or two completely useless units thrown in whose worthlessness negated most of the savings you were getting on the rest of the box.

You could always convert them to be Dragon Princes/Reavers. That's what I'm doing with mine, at least. Silverhelms weren't entirely useless last edition when they were still in Core.

Dwarves have Ogryn guns apparently. And the High Elf one has Dragon Prince Knights (whatever they're called) in the picture, but not in the listed contents.

Those are Silver Helms, not Dragon Princes. Which is unfortunate, 'cause the Dragon Princes are better game-wise and model-wise.

Sorry, yes, you're right. I thought the itty bitty spear unit at the top right were the Silver Helms, and the cavalry were the Dragon Ogre Knight Riders of Gork (or whatever). I see it now though.

Nice set.

Can anyone brave the impossibly slow-loading GW website to work out if there's any saving involved? The 40K packs usually have one (especially that great Chaos Annihilation Force).

P.S. I just realised that the US website is now slower than the Forge World website. That's actually quite impressive.

The Carstein host is 295 pounds for everything individually, so you "save" 65 pounds if you buy the box for 230 pounds.

Nice box, but I don't want all the stuff (especially blood knights and the characters), so the saving would become nonexistent.

I'm pondering the purchase, but I know how sales work. You end up spending more because
you buy stuff now and you buy more stuff later when you should have held off because you
put money down earlier to have stuff sooner.

100+ dollar savings on a Vampire Counts army = more money spent off budget when I
wasn't prepared to take advantage of it.

I see more reasons to create my gaming bank account every day.

By my calculations, the HE all separately comes out to closer to $500US. So at $370, that's like 26% off MSRP. Not too shabby.

It's almost like buying an Army Box + 25th Anniversary set, though I doubt I'd ever field 3 chariots in an HE army. Wish they had this deal before I started collecting my army.

And the useful units were too small to be viable, and the whole box rarely pointed out to more than 1500 at best.

Interesting. GW is selling actual useable armies, and at a bit of a discount. This has to be aimed at veteran players- guys who already play, but want to start a whole new army, but without doing so piecemeal. I wonder how well it will work? So far I haven't seen one I'm interested in, but then, my fantasy needs are currently well served.

The high elf deal shows 3 chariots but only says it comes with 1. I'm confused :(
