Does a Deff Dread taken as a troops choice become a scoring unit?

My position is that the basic "scoring units" rule (p.90) controls, in that a vehicle never counts as a scoring unit.

You're right. The only advantage of taking a dred as a troop slot is that it frees up a heavy slot

Since vehicles can never score (fnarr fnarr) a Troops Choice Deff Dred can never score (fnarr fnarr!)

Only non-vehicle, non-swarm Troop choices can score.
