Well time for a log of my own instead of admiring other peoples.

Space Marines an obvious choice with the new stuff and AOBR being released as well.

Well as youll see from the first few posts there are no CF`s as i wasnt sure where to start but now ive decided to go with the Crimson Fists

C&C more than welcome, will look forward to hearing peoples opinions and what not.

Colours will be; Necron Abyss, Machrite Red, Asurymen Blue, Red Gore, Solar Macharius Orange, Boltgun Metal and Badab Black.

Don't 'Vanilla' marines have a bigger advantage in the new codex?

I would certainly go with the "Homebrew" chapter.. I get tired of everyone going blue.. and thinking outside the box is always a good thing.

Both paint jobs are good.. but I would vote for non-conventional Chapter.

2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

Order of St Ursula (Sisters of Battle): W-2, L-1, T-1
Get of Freki (Space Wolves): W-3, L-1, T-1
Hive Fleet Portentosa (Nids/Stealers): W-6, L-4, T-0
Omega Marines (vanilla Space Marine): W-1, L-6, T-2
Waagh Magshak (Orks): W-4, L-0, T-1
A.V.P.D.W.: W-0, L-2, T-0

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

Anything but smurfs. Seriously, why? What pleasure would you get from it? How satisfying would the end product be? It doesn't matter how well painted they are, they're smurfs. Blue and white.

How about aqua and bone? Call them Aquamarines. Coverted coral bases. Assault troops can have tridents... That's more original than Ultras, trust me, and only 90% as lame. Plus you can have dolphins instead of bikes, without fear of up-laming.

Only over the other chapters with specific rules. Custom colourscheme all the way.

Unless you're planning to use the Ultramarines special characters, there's no difference between playing an Ultramarine force using the new Codex, or any other chapter using the new Codex. Differences only arise when you compare with the DA, BA, SW or BT rules.

So, since there's no rules difference, I'd say use your own chapter every time. There are too many Ultramarines....

That ultramarine does look really good, but I'm in the DIY chapter camp. You'll have more fun that way IMO. I really like the faces with the bionics

Definately use your own colors. No more ultra-smurfs!

Nice job on Culln by the way, he really is one of the best termies out there, IMO, and you´ve done him justice!

Have painted up a Crimson Fists veteran who will be pictured soon. This is turning into any marine log which is not the plan. I think though i will do Crimson fists as i rather enjoyed painting the veteran and i may start my own chapter after ive finished the fists

Nice painting. If you really enjoy doing lots of different chapters, go wild and have everybody represented within your army. I read of a marine army that did it once for Scouts and he wrote up fluff saying it was a training army.

I think that would be the most fun way to paint Marines.

It's a little fuzzy but from what I can tell I like what I see. Can't wait to see some more.

They look good, and from what seems to be in the new SM box (new to me being anywhere between the last 4 years since I stopped playing SM) they look Bad ass.

Very nice Fists. Clean and sharp colors. Wish I could see the detailing a bit better (pics are a bit dark.) Good to see a Crimson Fist chapter....since they atleast have a pic of a trooper in the SM codex.... Unlike their founding chapter....:-(. Sorry about that. Couldn't resist.

great pics, nice to see painted models of an army, instead of an army with no paint on it!!

I like your static grass, did you super glue it on? i've been having problems with using pva and sand, it turns it into gue, no definition on the sand, just a blob.

keep it coming, and are you getting pedro?

Ive been using PVA for the static grass, had thought bout using super glue but it works ok with the pva.

There forge world MkIV torsos and heads. Red scorpions torsos with the scorpion icons filed off.

The sternguard are the new models and some of my own to make them 10 men.

Yes i will be painting kantor soon as well as working on a captain conversion with either 2 powerfists or thunder hammers
