I want to make some killa kan's in the literal sense, glue legs and guns onto some fuel barrels and watch the fun begin!!

are you posting any more WIP pics of your dreads?

Dude, bumping??? Didn´t know we did that around here........... :(

Nice Dread though, but the bumping just reminds me of online game forums... One of the reasons for not frequenting them imo.

Also, difficult to judge the size without a model for comparison.

(Edit: Thought I might as well leave a bit more of a comment)

I bump my threads all the time, but I usually do it with something more subtle than just saying "bump"...

Anyways, I'm kind of disappointed by this. Not because it's bad, it's really a pretty decent job, but because I dislike the standard design of the dreads and kans to begin with. I was hoping to see something more unique and different looking when I saw the thread title.

True, adding something constructive to the thread, this I get.

It´s the post that just says Bump or whatever, makes me break out in yellow dots and purple stripes.

As for the design, I can see where you´re coming from Aduro, but for someone who´s starting out it can be difficult to find inspiration.

Bumping aside...have you seen the conversions of deff dreads using tank turrets as bodys? they're differeny but not very cool looking in my opinion.

there's always the rumours of plastic killa kan's, not that its true or anything, but if they were designed differently that'd be cool.

What did you use for the body? I was thinking about making one, using a cut down pill bottle as the body

12 gauge shotgun cartridges with the tops trimmed off and a cool top on them would make nice bodies, but a bit slim. full of character though....if you happen to have a friend who's in a gun club that you can get them from...

yea i lost inspiration for a while lol. it happens. the bump deal i put that on a day or 2 after i posted. no one responded so i figured screw it.
ANYWHO the body is made from a hospital baby formula bottle. but a pill bottle would work if its fat enough. i figured itd be skinny like a kan but after putting the arms on it some how bulked up.
also im knew to Ork building and ill sit here looking at my stuff like "how the hell do orks do that?" im used to SM type stuff.
this one im still working out the guns idea but the next one i just started is going to be strictly CC. I bough some stuff to made the 4 CC weapons on it. that one will look cool. as for this one, its hard to see in the pics but the "engine" on the back is a old radiator from a model car with hydrolic pumps on top and the like to power the CC weapons. i need to think of some pizzaz for the dreds tho, that i agree with thanks for the coments

It wasn't even a full day yet, give people some time to see it next time, it gets a negative look right from the start...

I think you have done a decent job for a homebrew, but like someone said, if your going to make someting from scratch dont try to make it look close to the GW model, as people will draw comparisons, and unless you are a phennominal modeller it will likely get bashed more than praised...

Still a heck of a lot cheaper than $50 though

Can we have a pic with something next to it to put it's size in perspective, say an Ork Boy?

Im liking it. I would rivet and both the crap out of it and call it good.

And yeah, a perspective shot would be nice.

Its definitely good for a scratch-built. We need more pictures though, and add some more character to it. If its scratch built your going to want people being able to say how creative it looks by seeing it. Most will just glance, and see a normal Killa-Kan.

I always thought that a D cell battery would be a good body for making killer kans.. It's just finding a way to attach the limbs to it where they'd stay on and wouldn't leak whatever chemicals are in batteries all over the place..

I think your dread looks brilliant. Though I agree with Aduro that if your going to make something from scratch, make it from SCRATCH. Orkz is a wild lot so you should go wild! Have you thought about making it stand out more on the battle field by giving it reverse joint legs? Perhapts the crazy gearhead mek in your army saw some sentials or warwalkers in action and though "Oi, dez dreads would be even stompier dem dems!" Heres an idea of what I'm talking about.

I like that, it is orky. you should build it YoJimbo

I've used batteries as fuel tanks for a converted hellhound, i used araldite compound to glue them in place and have just painted them...no leaks yet!!
