Ok so its unorthodox my idea but hey i like it !
i suddenly thought one night OMG some sort of black hawk or heavy chopper and imperial guard sitting on the dge would look pretyy damn fine
but the idea of gettign them to sit is ppuzzling me
does anyone have any ideas for how i can make them look like theyre sitting authentically

Thats a great idea, maybe try some of the classic heavy weapons teams that are sitting behind the gun. That might be easier to get how you want. Those or some rough rider legs.

I think anyway you go, its going to involve cutting and green stuff.

How about using the interior cockpit torso of a Sentinal that guy is sitting. Also if you use a 1/48 scale kit you could just put IG bits on the pilot fig & it should work. My personal opinion is a MI24 Hind is just screaming for an IG conversion

gw used to to metal tank crew and some were actually modelled to sit on the back of the tank. I have the valhallan and catachan ones.

The seated metal HW team gunners would work (they are two piece, so you could just add newer uppers to them.

The sentinel pilots could also work (with a little work).

The ork driver legs from the old trukk or buggy might also be an option (very runty for orks these days, but not out of the question for catachans).
