This is a one trick pony idea for an Orc and Goblin army, once you've used it your opponent can stop it easily. It is worth using once.

Take a unit of 59 night goblins with short bows, and put in a night goblin BSB with the spider banner. You've now got 59 poisonous attacks. Against a large target all of your goblins can shoot over the heads of the little fellas infront of them. Problems is you'll only have a 16" range, but don't worry about your BS or long range as any 6's bypass his toughness. You will need to have above average luck to take down a star dragon, because they have an armour save of 3+. I tried this against a high elf star dragon with a prince on it worth 619 points total, and both were wiped out. The goblin unit costs 282, the down side is losing a precious hero slot.

Ummm, great. And lets say, just for example, that just possibly the enemy doesn't bring any large targets. Wow, you've effecticely just wasted a hero choice and 282 pts. Well done.

I dont know, sure its a lot of shots, but they aint exactly great. Try that against a skink horde, they'll do it better and way cheaper.
Another thing, you dont want you bigass gobbo unit in combat with ANYTHING, especially when fear or terror comes into play... Its a good unit, but not great, and you could use the points for other, better units... Squig hoppers for instance, those things give me nightmares!

I can bend minds with my spoon...

Yeah, it wouldn't work in a tournament. I've used this once against a HE player who always takes at least one dragon.

Yea, it isnt a particularly good unit. Large targets tend to be fast movers, 6 inch move minimum and they come with backup.
Its an entertaining trick in one off games but thats prety much it.
Quite fun to pepper a treeman though.
