Trying to make an all comers list with DeathGuard. Im a big fan of Nurgle, and I normally run Chaos Daemons. I am looking to add some Stability to the daemons instability. Plus I miss shooting weaponry. Here goes the list.

HQ:
Typhus
Summoned Greater Daemon

Elites:
4 Terminators; 1 w/Chain fist; LandRaider

Troops:
7 Plague Marines: Plasma, Plasma, Champion Upgrade; Rhino E.Armor
7 Plague Marines: Plasma, Plasma, Champion Upgrade; Rhino E.Armor
7 Plague Marines: Melta, Melta; Rhino E.Armor

Heavy:
Vindicator: Demonic Possession
Vindicator: Demonic Possession

I know there has to be some weak points all over the place in this list? Any suggestions. I prefer to run with Typhus (I know he is expensive).. I kind of went with PlagueMarines because of him.. So any list working around him would be great.

Thanks Looking forward to all responses.

A longer reach might be something. Maybe switch the Vindicators with Defilers, getting the 10 points to do so from switching your Plasma Guns to Melta Guns on the second squad? If you're going to do that, then I suggest having the squad without the Champion take the pair of Plasma Guns, because the squads with the Champions need to close for when the Greater Daemon pops out.

Also, you only have three Champions which the Greater Daemon can Possess. That's pretty risky, even if they are all Champions of Nurgle.

i dont think that you need to vindicators as if you lose the battle cannon then it is useless and for the points is a real risk running 2. i would suggest a dreadnought [i know people hate them, but when i face them they earn back 3 times there points on average] or some lesser demons and a spawn or 2.

But i maybe wrong, i only fight against them not with them.

if you can find the points, go for 10 bikers with mark of nurgle, unstoppable

Alright here are some changes; what you all think of this list.

Typhus
Summoned Greater Daemon

Elites:
4 Terminators; LandRaider

Troops:
7 Plague Marines: Plasma, Plasma, Champion Upgrade; Rhino E.Armor
7 Plague Marines: Plasma, Plasma, Champion Upgrade; Rhino E.Armor
7 Plague Marines: Melta, Melta; Rhino E.Armor

Heavy:
Defiler
Defiler

You think 2 Champions will be risky before the greater daemon pops out? On Average he should pop out around turn 3.. I think it will take time before someone will chew through 2 squads of Plague Marines.. Most of the time, they wont see enemy contact until turn 3.. unless folks are DSing.

On a Side note; I already own 2 Soul Grinders.. you think people will gripe Im running my SGs as Defilers? Actually I dont like Defilers Models, but the SGs are Tight!

Looking forward to responses.

My First run this list they had Fists.. But i thought what if a GD possesses them? That would be a waste of 25 points.. Then i thought well I could give just 1 of them fists. Then I would sub consciously limit what Champion my GD will possess.. i want him to be somewhat where I need him, not be thinking "Damn I just wasted that fist, but I needed that GD is best in that area"..

You feel me?

I think that leaves you with 5pts left over if you're dropping the Chainfist, which would be worth spending on a Combi-Melta just in case someone tries to run you over in a Tank Shock.

Taking Soul Grinders as Defilers seems fine so long as you trade the Twin-Linked Heavy Flamethrower and the Reaper Autocannon for extra Close Combat Arms. In that configuration the Soul Grinder is most WYSIWYG like the Defiler.

As for the Champions, it really doesn't take that long to chew through seven Plague Marines if you're using the right equipment (Plasma Cannons, Starcannons, Plasma Rifles, etc). Still, it looks like a handy army, though fast-moving Eldar might run circles around you.

Another Modification; this one appears to me to be alittle balanced.

HQ:
Typhus
Summoned Greater Daemon

Elites:
4 Terminators; Mark of Nurgle; LandRaider

Troops:
7 Plague Marines: Plasma, Plasma, Champion Upgrade; Rhino E.Armor
7 Plague Marines: Plasma, Plasma, Champion Upgrade; Rhino E.Armor
7 Plague Marines: Champion Upgrade, Melta; Rhino E.Armor

Heavy:
Vindicator: Demonic Possession
Defiler

haha, you see I threw that back vindicator in there; I have the model so I wanna try to use it, or I will feel dirty wasting 30$.. However, I managed to squeeze another Champion in for an additional option for the greater daemon. I plan to play this list Very Aggressive, and try to put the heat on early; the only unit that wouldnt be soo aggressive will be the defiler, Ill keep him walking and shooting Ord, while hanging back.

Looking forward to your responses;

TBH i wouldnt take the defiler switch it back to the vindicator and typhus is too expsensive for a list like this.
I woud take out land raider and typhus, switch typhus with demon prince mark of nurgle and nugles rot or gift of chaos. replace the land raider with another plague marines squad, take out the greater demon and spend the points on 1 more termy and a rhion for the extra squad.

I would go with something like this:

HQ

demon prince
mon,nurgle's rot,wings.
165

Elites

5 terminators
mark of nurgle,5 combi-meltas.
225

Troops

7 Plague marines
2x plasma,champ,power weapon.

7 Plague marines
2x plasma,champ,power weapon.

7 Plague marines
2x melta,champ,powerfist.

7 plague marines
2x melta,champ,powerfist.

Heavy support

vindicator
demonic possesion
145

vindicator
demonic possesion
145

Rhino

Rhino

Rhino

Rhino

i think thats about right

Just what i'd do.
