Subject: Base size for Steed of Slaanesh?

The new chaos book specifically mentions each daemonic mount OTHER than the Steed of Slaanesh when mentioning that they all count as cavalry, even though they aren't mounted on 25x50 mm bases.
So what's the Steed of Slaanesh count as? It's listed as Fast Cavalry so I'm guessing it still gets the mounted bonus [as it's a 1 wound mount] but wasn't included in the other list simply because of its fast cavalry distinction?

The Steed of Slaanesh comes on a 25x50mm base like normal cav, so there's no need for that rule. I know that sounds confusing, but they're no longer talking about the Boobworm. The Steed that you can purchase for Heralds of Slaanesh/Champions is meant to be the same Steed as Seekers/Mounted Daemonettes use.

What Steed of Slaanesh are you walking about, P4th? The only models I’m aware of are the Boobsnake, which comes with a 50x50, and the old Mounted Daemonettes (now called Seekers of Slaanesh). The only Steed for which a model is provided for Warriors of Chaos is the one on the 50x50mm base.
The description of the Steed in the Warriors of Chaos book is confusing. It’s listed as Fast Cavalry, which would be the first time such a model wasn’t on a 25x50mm base. The fluff description also refers to it as bipedal, which sounds more like a Seeker.

I assume that they copy pasted the rules for the mounts from the Daemons book, which has the same rulings for each steed. Seeker "Mounts of Slaanesh"(on 25x50), as they were called so they weren't confused with the Boobworm, are now called "Steeds of Slaanesh" and are used by Heralds/Mortal Champions now as well. GW is phasing out the old Boobworm steed rules/fluff wise for the newer, smaller Steeds that the Seekers use. GW made the usual mistake(s) of assuming that we'll either buy all the books and make that assumption or that no one would notice that they're making us change the base sizes/mount models for models they don't produce anymore/yet(as there are rumors of new plastic Seekers). So, yes, I'm referring to the Seeker Steed model.

Sounds reasonable, except for the disconnect between the fact that there's a rider on 50mm-based boobsnake available for sale, and is not (and never has been) a model for a hero on cav-based Steed of Slaanesh.
I actually have several of the old 3rd ed bipedal steeds of slaanesh, as well as a half dozen mounted daemonettes, and a hero on a boobsnake. The inconsistency/lack of clarity here is a problem for me, since there are multiple different models with multiple different base types, and no clear statement in WoC of what we're supposed to be using.
If there was indeed a new cav-based Steed of Slaanesh available, the implication would serve well enough. Without either the model or the rule, I think a lot of folks are going to be confused (or wrongly assuming one way or the other with no clear guidance).

I'm not saying there isn't a problem(in fact, I think there's a glaring problem!), I'm just following a line of reasoning that I had to go through with the Daemon book when it came out. As it stands, by RAW we have to assume that it's a 25x50mm base, but there is no model for it; or assume that we suddenly have a 40x40mm Fast Cav model which we don't know what to do with, because the rules don't cover it.

That's the thing- the Fast Cav rules aren't actually dependent on any particular base size. They could certainly be used with a bigger base. *
But the precedent makes things confusing. All we have to go on is circumstantional evidence.
*:I'd tend to go 50mm, not 40mm, because it lines up better with chaos infantry and cavalry units if you want to join one.

Also I'm wrong on the 40mm, it does come with 50mm.
